Not Mushroom For Two In Ea

This challenge closed almost 8 years ago.

The Challenge

Well certainly not for two mushrooms the same in this contest.

There are around 100,000 identified species of organisms in world, classed as Fungi and these are divided into four groups. The group I want us to look at is Basidiomycota (Meaning spore producing Fungi) which is split again and includes the well known Mushroom.
Mushrooms typically have a cap and gills and most have stems but some do not. With approximately 14,000 identified species of mushroom out there and thousands that aren’t you shouldn’t have much trouble finding one to photograph, but there is a catch.

There is only room for one photo per type of mushroom in this contest. So get your photo in first because we want to see as many different types of mushroom as possible.
Don’t forget you need to identify your mushroom and as they are one of the hardest of living things to identify, I’m going to run the contest for 2 weeks. Any photo’s that have the same type of mushroom on it, later entries will be deleted.

No mushrooms from your kitchen thank you, they need to be in their natural environment

Judging / Voting Criteria

When you vote, just vote for the one you like best, its as simple as that.

Rewards & Prizes

1st place winners will have their photo used as the group Avatar for 2 weeks until the next contest is finished.
Then 1st, 2nd and 3rd will have their photo’s permanently posted on the groups Feature Board.

Additional Information

*Just remember you need to be very careful when it comes to Fungi and mushrooms, so please no touching or eating any mushrooms you find without 100% positive identification. Always wash your hands! Enjoy and get out there.
