Welcome Home Henrietta by edwardfish
June 26th How excited I am! Tomorrow is my birthday, and my sisters have told me that Papa will be arriving first thing, and that he has a very special treat in store for me. Naturally since learning of this, I have been at pains to discover what awaits me. Yet to my utter dismay, when I try to interrogate my sisters , they will only say that they are sworn to secrecy, then glance at one another and burst into infuriating giggles. I feel that if I am to succeed in my endeavour to extract the necessary information before morning, I must first get to each of them separately, then use all the cunning and ingenuity inherited from my beloved father. What springs immediately to mind, is to adopt the guile of one of Nature’s predators and pursue the weaker of the pack. Knowing as I do of Audrey’s great fondness for fruit bonbons, I shall arm myself with said items, and make my way to her bedchamber this very evening. Let us see how long her lips remain sealed when such delightful confection is offered in exchange for her secrets!

Eyeless by Lloyd Harvey
Open your eyes up to the world and see it for what its is. Do not remain blind to the wonders of other cultures, nature and science. This piece is inspired by the work of Chet Zar, a monster portrait oil painter. It was first an A3 sketch that was then imported into Photoshop where it was then painted and cleaned. It was a speed painting exercise and took 3 hours of to do and was done mostly on one layer.

Silenced by Lloyd Harvey
Never, under any circumstance, let someone silence your views or ideas. This piece is inspired by the work of Chet Zar, a monster portrait oil painter. It was first an A3 sketch that was then imported into Photoshop where it was then painted and cleaned. It took around 8 hours of work and was done mostly on one layer.

Grin by Lloyd Harvey
No matter how down you get, what you look like or how bad the world is, you should always grin. This piece is inspired by the work of Chet Zar, a monster portrait oil painter. It was first an A4 sketch that was then imported into Photoshop where it was then painted and cleaned. It was a speed painting exercise and took 2 hours of to do and was done mostly on one layer.

Some simple questions … Do you believe you should have the right to OWN YOUR CREATIVE PROPERTY, affectively defend that right, have that right respected world wide, and have that right protected? I see people talk about copyright infringement and their images being stolen all the time on here and other POD’s. And some get quite upset about it. Will you be able to afford a per image fee to protect all the images you have created and will create? Will you be able to afford it for the rest of your life or have to stop creating at some point? OR worse … just let others steal your work. We really need to get to work and help stop the Orphan Works Act of 2008. The House subcommittee has already voted in favor of this legislation. The only way to stop it now is to literally flood both Houses of Congress with faxes and letters … phone calls even if you have an ear. We need to convince them we don’t want it and that it is not a good piece of legislation. WE NEED TO FIGHT FOR AND PROTECT OUR RIGHTS … no one is going to do this for us. Keep an eye on this Red Bubble FORUM thread Illustrators Partnership has set up a way to send faxes If the people who want this legislation win … WE ALL LOOSE!

About This Group
To quote Captain Spaulding from House of 1,000 Corpses: “You like blood? Violence? Freaks of nature?” Well, then come on down to Monsters, Ink and show us what lurks inside the dark corners of your imagination! This group will focus primarily on horror flicks, but is also open to pretty much anything that’s just downright scary, creepy or otherwise disturbing. Just remember that the key word here is horror.
PLEASE READ THE RULES BELOW, AS THE GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSIONS HAVE CHANGED.
Any medium is acceptable provided it’s truly horror related. Photos are discouraged because they typically don’t convey any real sense of horror; however, if you’ve set up a fantastic shoot and you think it’s really scary, feel free to submit it.
All submissions are subject to our approval.
I’m hoping to really push some boundaries here, so let’s see what you’ve got!
