|
This contest for the Writers’ Market group involves the winning story being published by Mystic Moon Press as an eBook. The competition will run from January 19, 2008 to March 19, 2008. The contest will close at 12:00 am EST, on the 19th March. I’ll start reading the entrants. I’ll pick three finalists. From the three, Mystic Moon Press will pick the winning story. Submission Guidelines
If you’d like more information about Mystic Moon Press and more on their submission guidelines, please view this link. UPDATED 030108 2PM: If you feel the story is too long to make it as a writing post (it’s more than 15k worth of words for example). Here’s what you can do: Upload part or all of the first chapter as a writing item. In the description indicate that it’s part of a completed novel. Link the writing item to the contest forum post. Then email the completed story manuscript as an .rtf file attachment to vbpurcell@gmail.com. In the subject header type: Full Manuscript for Story Entry xxx When formatting the manuscript:
Once I receive the email, I’ll post a notification to the contest post to show that it was received. ALTERNATIVELY: If you already have the completed story here as chapters. Just link the first and last chapters as one post in the contest forum post (noting it is a finished story). I’ll read them all in order. Major note: If you have stories posted to your own blog sites or other community sites such as writing.com, urbis.com etc. They are okay to submit. The stories must not be under contract (or undergoing contract negotiations) with another publisher; online or traditional. Any other questions, let me know. |

Hi Ronnie. I have posted “Objects Are Closer Than They Appear,” and the link is http://www.redbubble.com/people/crzadkiewicz/writing/592356-objects-are-closer-than-they-appear Originally a short story, published by Toasted Cheese in 2004, the story became a novel after readers kept suggesting that I do that very thing. Of course, admittedly, in the beginning I didn’t take their suggestions all that seriously, but then last year I awoke one morning and thought, “Why not?” Anyway, the novel is now complete and consists of 79,931 words. —Carol |

Hi Ron. Well, after much navigating, I finally found my way back into this forum. I think I am, perhaps, technologicaly challenged. :-) Anyway, I am glad to learn that you received the manuscript. I am also glad that I submitted it correctly. —Carol |

I would like to know…what is wrong with POETRY…lol… |
|

Nothing is wrong with poetry. It’s a type of writing the publisher doesn’t handle. |

Ok, I’ve finished my short story and I’ll be posting a proper link soon. (it’s way too long to fit the “writing” tag so I’m gonna make a couple of entries as a “sneak peek” but the thing is finished, fear not) |
