REACH for the sky! Amazing waves at Bunbury, Western Australia shot with my Nikon D80 and the 18-200mmlens
Another image made on my recent holiday.
The peak of the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb. Such an incredible sight passing under the bridge in the late afternoon, to the silhouettes of the climbers all waving to us as we sailed back into Sydney on our cruise. Standing on the top deck of the ship, ‘Land Down Under’ (sung by Men At Work) playing loudly, what a truly great Aussie moment! Camera – Nikon D90 / Lens 55-200mm Textures layers added. These are irresistible ‘weeds’ from South Africa, all along the roadsides around Western Australian wheatbelt towns. I’ve got to say, shamefully that I will be grabbing some plants and bringing them home. Should I be admitting to this?? I reckon an avenue of them lining our 90 metre driveway would be an amazing spring feast of orange and gold to welcome me home! They are so graphic, I’m sure I could design a funky T-shirt with them….. A most delightful spot which owes it’s near isolation to being some 15 kms off the main road. It fronts the Southern Ocean in the south west of Western Australia and would be approximately 480 kms south of Perth and about 25 kms east of Albany.
I took a drive out to the wheat belt out here in Western Australia over the weekend, and I stopped at various locations along the way. / It was the first day of sunshine this month, and the first taste of spring. This is a photo of a windmill that I came across while out on my drive. EOS 500D. Featured In: Australian Landmarks and Icons, WA Red Bubbles Mk II, Windmills & Ferris wheels.

the fewer trees there are in a place, the harder it gets for the ones that are left. The windswept West Australian coastal landscape is harsh, and agriculture has made its mark.

Nikon D300 = Tokina..12-24mm / Friday, 20 November 2009 / The Banks / A place for all Aussie Fisho’s and Fishette’s / The Swan River is Perth’s natural heartbeat – the city’s location right on the river banks makes the capital one of the most beautiful in the world. The view of the river and city from Kings Park is among Western Australia’s most scenic – city sky scrapers shining against a brilliant blue Perth sky, green parklands and the shimmering blue river combine to create a stunning vista. This man is watching his cattle, its a chaotic moment , half the cattle in the river ,some on land, some on the ramp on the ferry to Toumbouctou. / The ramp is very slippery and its almost awfull to see the cows sliding back from the ramp and landing half in the air and halfl in the air. I had real mixed feelings about this while i was trying to watch. They had to go on that ferry,,what a nightmare and all those tourists and local people wanting to go on the ferry too… / They all wanted/needed to go to Toumbouctou to go to The Festival in the Desert.., Mali. / Watch this /

I am starting a series of abstracts that I actually enjoy. It is difficult as a photographer to really like some of my own images. But I am excited about these abstracts. There is so much beauty that can be enjoyed from the most unlikely subjects. In this case the side of a 44 gallon drum. Found at Maylands Boatyard PLEASE VIEW LARGE
