Taken at the Japanese Garden in Portland, Oregon. It was a very cool, foggy morning, but the fog lifted just long enough to get this shot, then it settled back down and the vibrant colors were muted again. Portrait mode view of West Burton Falls in Autumn.
Taken at Springbrook National Park at The Natural Bridge on the 5th of October, 2009. The following evening we came back to view the glow worms on the cave walls, it was definitely an amazing experience (minus the stupid people shining their torches straight onto the glow worms, smoking near them and using camera flash!). Getting a chance to shoot with Marianne Venegoni, Tony Pierce, and a couple of other friends (they aren’t on RB) at Elkmont. / If you go down the dirt road past the summer homes there, you can find this little jewel right along side the road. Usually after it’s rained alittle you can find this running quite nicely. / Always fun to play around with slow shutterspeed on water if lighting is just right. Best if viewed larger. / Shot this in SS mode / SS set at 1/4th of a sec / ISO at 100 / Fstop at F8 / Exposure comp at -0.3 / Focal length at 85mm Shot this with a prime 85mm lens, usually used for portraits. Marianne shouldn’t ever tell me I can’t do something with a lens :)

Sheoak Falls / The car park is located off the Great Ocean Road approximately 3 km’s south of Lorne Victoria, Australia. / From there …..... / Great Otway National Park / Length: 7 kilometres / Walk: 3 hours return / Track: Moderate / Grade: Moderate / Start: Sheoak picnic area / Finish: Sheoak picnic area The track to Sheoak Falls is one of many scenic trails winding their way through the Great Otway National Park. The return loop along the Sheoak track branches off to Castle Rock, where a cliff-top lookout offers sweeping ocean views. / Note: Sheoak Falls Walk has a low river crossing due to the replacement of a bridge with stepping stones and should not be attempted when river levels are high. / from / VisitVictoria.com Nikon D300 / Lens Nikon 12-24 / A – F/22 / S – 1.3’s / F/L -24mm / ISO – 200

Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon, Utah / Takne with a Nikon D90, 1 sec exposure, f22, ISO 200
The first time I visited the mid section of Katoomba Falls I flunked the composition. Second time round I broke a few land-based rules to get the right position. With such depth to capture, as opposed to the “front-on” angle, or even side-on, I find a long exposure, in this case 100 seconds, fills that depth with body. Seeping the light with a 9-stop ND filter, like dripping treacle off a spoon. Or something poetic like that. Canon 5D Mark II, shot in Monochrome. Blue Mountains National Park.
