A story that goes beyond the boundaries of the Supernatural to the half-world of the living dead. Where a woman’s soul inhabits a fly’s body… where Vengeance is only a voice… and where vampires suck only the blood of those they love dearest! Black Sabbath is a 1963 Italian horror film directed by Mario Bava, its original Italian title was I Tre volti della paura meaning The Three Faces of Fear. It comprises three different stories, with introductory by the horror legend Boris Karloff. In segment “The Wurdalak” Vladimir finds a beheaded corpse with a knife plunged into its heart which he removes and takes as a souvenir. Later that night he asks for shelter at a small cottage in which a strange family lives. / It’s a story written by Aleksey Konstantinovich Tolstoy and it’s very similar to Edgar Allen Poe’s The Fall of the House of Usher. / Boris Kalfoff gives once more an outstanding performance and it’s the only film in his entire filmography in which Boris ever played a vampire! / Additional note: In August 1969, a heavy blues-rock band named Earth decided to change their name and agreed that the title of this movie would be a nice fit for their sound. This band, Black Sabbath, later rose to much acclaim. / ZOMBIE 14,7×18,8 cm / Inks on schoeller paper

This is a 2fold piece; another will be coming out shortly entitled / Diary of a REAL vampire;
I did a similar manip a little bit ago, but after receiving some constructive critisism, and being a perfectionist, I went back to work on this concept. I started completely from scratch, nearly tore my hair out when the power went out and I lost the extraction had worked so hard on, and then returned to work like a woman obsessed – which is what I am! It was worth it. This is definitely an improved piece. This is a character coming out of the pages of a book. Not fully solid, but gaining solidity as the emergence continues, made of the paper she is written on and out of the words that created her. I have emphasized the eyes (one, because they are my best feature), and believe – no pun intended – they have now become the focal point of this piece, where my previous attempt lacked the punch this one has in giving the eyes the main place of attention. After all…it is the eyes that read the words…the words go into the heart…the characters become real. We meet, eye to eye, in a magic place where a character can literally jump from the pages. As I said in the description section of my last attempt at this idea, I am a self-confessed book-addict. I love the idea that a character can jump off the page and into your heart, touching you and leaving their indelible imprint upon you just like the black words upon the white page they come from. I chose Bram Stoker’s classic Dracula because it is one of my favourite books – I could see myself in that story…and now, I can, quite literally, see myself there. And, now, I can see myself there BETTER! I appreciate my extra effort, hopefully others will enjoy this better now, as well.
a raid gone wrong…or right??? You be the judge, Master or Mistress!
The sun donned her gown as she settled for the night, / Heaving her gold jewellery, she lay on her back and dreamt… Will they miss me as I go? Will they wait for me? / I wander if the moon will show… as I go to sleep. And as she donned that blood red gown, / All the creatures went to bed… save the fanged flying horrors, / who waited for this moment… Away with thee! It’s time to feed! / By the light of moon! / You’ll burn us none, we are but dead! But now we are alive… They fed by night with fangs dyed red… / Their gowns of black dyed too. / And yet this blood would not out-do, The sun’s red gown in the clouds.
Original version scratched rapidly while inspiration grabbed me, but desparately need editing/rewriting. / Will use this poem as an example for the rewriting lesson for my students. The finished product will be posted here next. Thank you; As with everything on my site brutal commentary is eagerly requested from ALL members and non-members!
