Heaven's wall by Sugarpop
Poster collages on a wall in Beirut featuring three people who died in awkward conditions. The photo was remixed by sugarpop Bottom right: Samir Kassir was a university professor, journalist and historian, a prominent left-wing activist, a strong advocate of freedom for the Palestinians, democracy in Lebanon and Syria and a vocal critic of the Syrian presence in Lebanon. He was assassinated on 2 June 2005 and his murderers remain unknown. / Behind the young boy waving his hand: Bashir Gemayel, the charismatic Christian politician, was a strong military and shrewd leader, who was the commander of the Lebanese Forces, a coalition of all the Christian militias of Lebanon. / Elected Lebanese President in 1982, he got assassinated only 8 days before he was supposed to be installed in the presidential office. The bomb was placed at the Phalangist headquarters in Ashrafiyeh, Beirut. As, for the young boy, he died accidentally, while skiing and the poster that reads “will never forget you” was stamped all over the city of Beirut.

DISABLED PARAPLEGIA FRIEND TABLE by SofiaYoushi
Paraplegia is an impairment in motor and/or sensory function of the lower extremities. It is usually the result of spinal cord injury or a congenital condition such as spina bifida which affects the neural elements of the spinal canal. The area of the spinal canal which is affected in paraplegia is either the thoracic, lumbar, or sacral regions. If the arms are also affected by paralysis, tetraplegia is the proper terminology.Help us raise awareness in society about persons with disabilities, their rights, their needs, their potential and their contribution and promote disability awareness and human rights of disabled people.

Duh by Cleburnus
On a cliff above Plymouth Harbor. Large rocks far below. Teens in Plymouth must be mighty dumb to need a sign like this to keep them from hurtling off this cliff.

And None Shall Pass by Matthew Stewart
With the ‘Red Men’ blocking people from crossing, the first thing I could think of was Lord of the Rings. I think the somewhat desaturated look works well on this shot.

O Cieux! by Sugarpop
This is one part of The Martyr’s Statue in Down Town Beirut, which commemorates six Lebanese nationalists who were hanged during World War I by the Ottomans, May 6th 1916; May 6 has become the Martyrs’ celebration Day in Lebanon. / The present memorial to Lebanon’s martyrs was erected in 1960 and / still stands today, solitary and silent in the center of the “Place des Martyrs”. / No matter what you may call it – “Place des Canons”, “Burj” or “Place des Martyrs”, this rectangular piece of land in the center of Beirut will always hold a privileged and cherished place on the minds and hearts of all Lebanese. / The statue, riddled with bullet holes, has become a symbol for all that was destroyed during the Lebanese Civil War. / The Martyr’s Square has become a common location for protests and demonstrations, among the more notable demonstrations were the 2005 anti-Syrian protests of the Cedar Revolution. / The stickers on the statue is of anti-Syrian journalist and intellectual Samir Kassir, assassinated in 2005. Martyrdom is a notion put, unfortunately, at all sauces in Lebanon’s political life.
