Jurasic Coast Devon. by Irene Burdell
Taken while on my flying visit to Devon last week. This tranquil and historic seaside town nestles on the edge of a pebble beach beneath spectacular red cliffs, made famous by literary giants such as Noel Coward, P.G. Woodhouse and Anthony Trollope. Situated at the mouth of the River Otter, Budleigh Salterton’s sheltered location has made it popular since Roman times. Its famous bun-like pebbles, or cobbles, were swept ashore by ancient rivers. A walk up the sandstone cliffs gives outstanding views of Budleigh and across Lyme Bay and will lead you to Sandy Bay and Exmouth.

River Tamar by Plukie
This was a scene this morning on the River Tamar. It was taken from underneath the two bridges that span the River Tamer, joining Plymouth Devon with Saltash Cornwall. The brickwork framing the photo is from the struts holding up the Brunel Railway bridge.

Everything stops for tea by Graeme Pettit Photography
Usually, on British Railways, there is an object known as a line token – this is carried by the loco driver between signalboxes and is used for preventing two trains entering the same section. / / / I had set myself up to photograph this exchange, only to find out that what actually came out, this time, was a teapot instead! My only wish, is that I had the camera set a little more to the left to get the porter running up the platform to catch it! The location is one of my all time personal favourites – and one I have built models of in the past – the lovely little preserved line station of Staverton – the Primrose Line – on the South Devon Railway – which runs alongside the scenic River Dart.

Rocky Valley Waterfall by cwwphotography
A photograph of a waterfall at Rocky Valley. A walk along the public footpath at Rocky Valley which is situated between Boscastle and Tintagel in Cornwall, and towards the end where the stream meets the sea lies this waterfall. A careful clamber down the rocks enabled me to get the position for this shot. A slow shutter speed was used to create the flowing effect of the water.

Plymouth Gold by Wayne Holman
Smeaton’s Tower taken from The Hoe in Plymouth UK. The stretch of water that you see going out to the breakwater and LifeBoat station is named Plymouth Sound and is why Plymouth is sometimes described as the place where you can Hear the Sea and See The Sound.

Elegance by Wayne Holman
Taken in Saltash, Cornwall UK. There are many swans that live along the riverbank here and they are quite happy to have their photo taken, as long as you get their best side of course.

Waiting for the Wave by AndyReeve
Quite a relaxed approach I thought. In fact she missed a couple of waves. I reckon she was day dreaming that she was on a Hawaiian Beach. Bless. This was taken at Perran Sands just below the lovely Village of Perranuthnoe a little bit west of Penzance.
About This Group
Welcome to the South West UK group. The only group that does things ‘Dreckly’. And if you know what that means, you are halfway to joining.
Please read and UNDERSTAND the Group Guidelines before submitting any work for approval.
The aim of the group is to promote the art, writing, history, heritage, culture, scenery and wildlife of the two counties, on RedBubble, and then, hopefully promote the ‘Bubble’ in our own communities. The group is open to anyone who lives in, has connections with, or has even holidayed here, or just wants to join to look at, or read, all the amazing work that is on display here. Also, being such a popular holiday destination, the group will hopefully be a library of information for fellow ‘Bubblers’, who are planning a holiday here. With so much history, culture, and stunning scenery in the area, this group is the one to be in.
