Arguably an architectural monument, the Harisa Basilica is reachable by car and by cable car taken from the coast of Jounieh. It sits in proximity of the statue in the next photo and the church in the photo after is beautifully visible from right next to it with a beautiful view of Beirut in the background on clear days.

A homage to Edward Hopper. I love Edward Hopper’s oil painting, Office at Night. This image just reminded me of the spirit of that Hopper painting: All that darkness about the the pure light within. above the city of Cochem, in the famous wine region of the Mosel River (Moselle), towers the beautiful, over 1000 year old, Reichsburg Castle which is built in Neo-Classical Style! Oldest records date the city back to 886 A.D. at which time both the Celtic and Roman tribes populated the region. This is a mere 40 minute drive from my hometown in Germany.

Another attempt at something a little bit different for me. I generally stick to colour, but I thought I would try converting a few of my images into mono. The original colour version is below (click on the colour image to view it properly). Colourful Gondolas full of tourists, Vaporettos full of commuters, cruise ships and pleasure boats of all kinds can be seen navigating the wide Giudecca Canal in Venice, Italy. In the background is the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore, designed by Andrea Palladio and located on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore. Facing the Bacino di San Marco, the church plays a central role in the panorama from the Piazzetta. (Information supplied by Wikipedia). Single RAW image Tonemapped in Photomatix Pro 3.2. The Cityscapes and Skylines group is a showcase for Redbubble’s best Urban images and City Skyline photography and artworks. This is NOT the place for rural scenes, beaches, mountians or lakes – please submit your best images of City landscapes….and, please include in the description the location. We do acknowledge that cities all over the world do look different (New York City looks very different to the Gold Coast where I live… we do have tall buildings, but my city is right on the beach!!) and we are all about celebrating differences here – but please make sure you tell us where it is:)
we have a number of excellent banners that we use to promote the group.
