Halloween fuelled by sugar!

Five groups have come together in a writing challenge to welcome Halloween.

The participating groups are Short stories – Spherical Scriptings; Flash Fiction ; A Novel Idea ; The Writers Market and Twisted Tales.

Background and Inspiration
Halloween is coming, and in many countries this means dressing up and trick or treating! Oh the horror; embrace the sugar…!

How to be a part of it
Create a written work that captures the essence of Halloween, from the dark and spooky to the bright and tacky.
Add your work to the group, and paste a link to it in this forum topic, so the hosts know it’s an entry!

How it will work
This is a two stage competition. The first part happens within the five groups, and the second part happens across the five groups.
Enter your work to the challenge.
Multiple works accepted (don’t use the same writing as an entry in different groups though – write something else and enter that instead).
Your hosts will judge a winning story to represent the group.
All of the group winners will then be open to a public vote to pick the overall winner across all five groups!

Entries close midnight (your time) October 30th.
Group winners will be announced Nov 2nd, and public voting will run for a week (voting details will be provided at that time) to decide the overall winning written work (and winning group!)

Size: from 150 to 1000 words

Prize. There is US$30 for the overall writing winner, and a copy of the Gaia publication for second place. Group winners and placegetters will be featured.

LOL Kate! When I realised I’d missed the cutoff for Halloween publication the wheels fell off my editing somewhat (completely!). I actually had the file out just this weekend though, so I think it’s time to flesh that series out a bit! It was good to see Sama again though :)

Kate and I will go through and judge over the weekend to find the group winner. The group winner will represent the Short Stories group in the final stage, going up for public voting against the winners from the other four Sugar High groups.
