Aha! That explains that nagging feel of something missing… Also excellent if you can weave an astrological element in so you can enter the Zodiac13 competition. |

How do you link a picture so it shows in your post or otherwise? I have always wondered about this. You can BubbleMail me with the solution if you’d like. Thanks in advance! |

Here’s my entry Mick’s Pub Empress, I resist the reads before! I sit in movie theatres humming with eyes closed during movie previews. |

“hey, you’re not supposed to read the others before you write your own” the best writers read, read and then read some. and, besides, didn’t see that rule specified anywhere ;) |

I’m glad someone read my story, actually. I’m struggling with the halloween one, though. Lots of ideas in my head, but I can’t stay awake long enough to follow one through so it’s probably a non-starter. I always write in my head instead of counting sheep. When I do hit on a whacking good idea it usually keeps me awake so long that I have to get up and start writing. |

I do think your right, faithart and DBA Lehane. If you’re going to write, you have to read. I don’t think I’m the best at either. I think it’s more of a personal choice than a rule as to whether or not to read the competition ahead of time. For me, I would be afraid of seeing one of my own ideas in someone else’s writing. I wouldn’t want to be changed by it. Lots of fiction authors refuse to read anything but non-fiction while working on a project. We all have our weirdness. No one is wrong. I definitely have much to learn, though. |

Haha, well I’m doing well with the resisting! I’ll write and post my own this arvo, then see what everyone else has come up with! |
