Watercolor and Collage / 2007
Once a year the circus camps out across from my flat. I have never gone to a show but I am enchanted all the same by the idea of the circus and I enjoy looking at the tent and all the fairy lights that they string up.
This shot was created with a Zippo lighter attached to an unwound wire coat hanger. I spun it around the rock while standing on a ladder.
The lonely world of a lighter.
A 3D Zippo done in 3D Max i have been working on for the last couple of weeks. / Gotta chance to waste some more class time. / Rendered in mental ray
This is a personal piece, which I don’t expect anybody else to understand, so I’ll try to explain it to you a little. / This is my Zippo Lighter, It’s been in my pocket nearly every day for 13 years. It reminds me of the lost love who gave it to me all those years ago. / The blood sweat and tears I put into my marriage and the cold hard steel it was built upon… or so I used to believe… The only real things in this image are the Lighter and the 50p piece, the rest is just an illusion. The 50p piece is what I walked away with.
An image I remember from my childhood. / An interesting human invention.

Well instead of trying to get people to stop smoking, I’m encouraging it. :) As long as you are old enough. If you see the ads on tv to try to get smokers to stop smoking, it makes me want to light up a cigarette right then. I know alot of people who do that. So really and truely they are encouraging smoking. Smoke it up! Copyright © 2009 Amber Reid :: All Rights Reserved
