Zion National Park Utah. We were here in August during the monsoon season. In the early afternoon clouds, such as these would start building up. An hour or so later there would be a horrific thunderstorm. I never saw such fantastic skies as those in the desert during monsoon season.

Kaan – the White Tiger Cub. Looks so scary NOT! I sat next down to him and he promptly bit me on the boob. Well – it did stick out so perfect play toy. It was very painful, and he drew blood – but I wear my scar with pride. Bitten by a White Tiger and I lived to tell the tale! About 5 months old.

Storming skies in monsoon season Zion National Park Utah

Zion National Park has such amazing scenic wonders all along the eastern side as well as the tourist areas. This one shot shows how erosion has worn down the rock slabs and made very unique lines and carvings in the red rocks. This one shot is just up the road from Checkerboard Mesa and I just love how the different layers of rocks build upon each other and the clouds hang ominously overhead.

Reflections along the Virgin River in Zion National Park of a colorful Zion cliff against a brilliant blue sky. I was strolling along the river looking upward and suddenly noticed some exceptionally beautiful areas of color on the river bank of reflections from the nearby cliffs. Zion National Park in the high desert of Utah is divided by a long tunnel into two sections, east and west. This image was captured while day hiking through the scenic and diverse eastern end of the park. I stumbled upon this unique balanced rock in the middle of the landscape, which amazingly has stayed just as it did when it came to rest millions of years ago.
