  Close up photograph of Blue River. I melted wax crayons with an embossing heat gun and let them run on the canvas. / Building up layers successively. The final work is not that appealing to me but I am really just experimenting and having fun. I plan on playing more with this technique. The close up photo I took is kind of cool.   A few months ago the State of Michigan was trying to pass a bill that would tax service based companies (as if this state didn’t have enough trouble, now its trying to eliminate any opportunity for any new business to relocate here). To help everyone concerned, the legislator published a long list of service’s that would be affected. Out of the hundreds of services, one came to my attention that, of course would directly impact me, that of the service of Phrenologist. / Now I know that not many people read the entire list and, since the bill did not pass (along with hundreds of other bills, like the state budget) I suspect that I must be the only practicing Phrenologist left to worry about such an outcome. True I am a bit more advanced in my profession than my predecessors, as I am a “ Kirlian Ultra Phrenologist “ or “ KUP ” for short, still I am taken aback that this state should single out such a severely depleted profession as mine for it’s grossly undermined tax base. / I fully understand that many still hold a prejudice against this career path for cutting off Mozart’s head however, I must point out that we did return it a little later (100 years later) after studying it carefully for any signs of “bump” genius. I also would point out that this act was not much different than that of da Vinci yanking out corpses to do his drawings or, some other early physicians to, ahem “ advance medical knowledge”. / I know too that the “winners” in history get to re-write it to reflect their own virtue, while castrating the losers to oblivion, or worse, implied villainy of the meanest kind (especially in western anglo-cized medicine (chiropractors notwithstanding)). My contention is though, that we, as a group of ” Phrenic Scientists “ were essentially correct in our basic understanding and concepts except we didn’t have “fancy MRI’s” or “Blood Flow Scans” or “BIO Feedback Wave Analysis” or “Computers” to pinpoint neuron centers of brain activity associated with love or, hate or genius, etc, etc, etc. / Now, of course, I singularly, have elevated this way beyond their mere colloquial ” silicone mechanical diagnoses “, to the transcending realm of true; “ Kirlian Associated Kuantum Encephalicalogy “ or ” KAKE “ for short.   Well, I am so excited I have self-taught myself to do yet another thingy on the computer – LOL ;) / Windows Movie Maker gave me a run for my money (or lack there of) but I managed to get all of the digitally edited, remastered and altered artwork since I learned in July how to do that and it is now all together (like here) in one youtube video, put to music by Tomas Walker’s Native American flute, called SOARING it is almost 9 minutes long and also my first youtube video presentation too. / The shot here is a hawk flying overhead that I edited with Redfield Plug-in Fractilius. / Thanks for checking out the video and this ;)

  Chaos is defined as the confused unorganized state existing before the creation of distinct forms; the inherent unpredictability in the behavior of a complex natural system (as the atmosphere or the beating heart). / Chaos magic is a school of the modern magical tradition which emphasizes the pragmatic use of belief systems and the creation of new and unorthodox methods. / Although there are a few techniques unique to chaos magic (such as some forms of sigil magic), chaos magic is often highly individualistic and borrows liberally from other belief systems, due to chaos magic having a central belief that belief is a tool. Some common sources of inspiration include such diverse areas as science fiction, scientific theories, traditional ceremonial magic, neoshamanism, Eastern philosophy, world religions, and individual experimentation. Despite tremendous individual variation, chaos magicians (or “chaotes”) often work with chaotic and humorous paradigms, such as the worship of Hundun from Taoism or Eris from Discordianism. They commonly also use psychedelic drugs in a practice known as chemognosticism. / Chaos magic claims that belief can be an active magical force. It emphasizes flexibility of belief and the ability to consciously choose ones beliefs, hoping to apply belief as a tool rather than a relatively unchanging part of ones personality. Various psychological techniques are employed in order to induce flexibility of belief. Other chaos magicians suggest that people need no “belief” to work magic. / In mathematics, chaos theory describes the behavior of certain dynamical systems – that is, systems whose states evolve with time – that may exhibit dynamics that are highly sensitive to initial conditions (popularly referred to as the butterfly effect). As a result of this sensitivity, which manifests itself as an exponential growth of perturbations in the initial conditions, the behavior of chaotic systems appears to be random.   Sneaky Snake

  As I chased around dragonflies near our ponds, this little garter snake surprised me, hanging about in the lily leaves. As we approach the Autumnal Equinox on Tuesday, the snake reminded me of the healing power of the West/Fall manifesting through shedding its skin. A snake does not remove one skin, then vulnerably search out another. The new, pure skin grows beneath the old. What is released is outgrown and useless. If it were not released, it would impair the healthy functioning of the new skin. / The future offers the opportunity for purity and healing through the shedding of skin, as long as you don’t let your new skin grow back to resemble the old… I have been working on the newest installment of Mind Soundtracks for EarthMonster Illustrated and harvesting a bounty of heARTworks found here on RB from my colleagues and the subject matter is along these same lines of releasing the old for new and better change. The sacred bird of the famous Ghost Dance was the crow. / The crow is considered to be the keeper of all sacred law, the one who knew the deep mysteries of all creation. Seeing a crow in certain situations was an omen of coming change. Spiritual crow power could lead a seeker to the gates of the supernatural… / This one ‘cawed’ in the season changing, shot as is, out a window in our front yard, inspiring the article written for Earthmonster Illustrated the digital arts ezine to celebrate creativity ~ follow the crow on over and check it out…

  At approx 4am Nov 12, 2009, Rain gave birth to a stunning medicine hat pinto colt. He was named for Vincent Van Gogh because of his colouring (reddish patches) and blue eyes…and he looks like a paint palette…Vinny will be registered part Welsh and hopefully be kept as a Stallion. Congrats to proud parents Jack and… Rain for producing such a beautiful colt. Vinny is my first foal I have bred. I am very happy with the result!   George Denis Patrick Carlin was born 5/12/1937, lived an amazingly “VOCAL” existence until 6/22/2008, when he died at the age of 71 years of wordy wisdom… / My husband is currently reading and enjoying “The last Words” the memoirs of George Carlin – he read me this quote this morning and I decided to play with it… / 2 images merged, the sleeping doll was taken at the Maryhill Museum of a doll collection, while the flag is from the Maryhill Stonehenge Memorial. Edited in photoshop7 with sponge painted trim and text. STUFF
