Photographic based digital montage – 2007 (no 2 from series of 3). Shot two seperate models & P/S combined them. I also draw in & enhanced part of the headpeice, the body, the dress, added a fringe to the face, hid the eyes, made the features more angular, blew up the lips, created cheekbones, reworked the branches, filtered wallpaper effects, extended the chandelier, added lacework/flower elements, desaturated the lot & added a sepia tone. Thank you to both models who wish to remain anonymous. Approximately 50 Photoshop layers. Just Sometimes (Song of Laughter and Forgetting) by Swervedriver – entered in Red Bubble ‘songmanip07 – Musical Photo Competition’. So many great entries. Regards to all for voting for this peice- JUST FAB TO WIN the photo manipulation category! I think I’ve seen all I can / I think I’ve heard all I can / I think I’ve been all I can / I think I’ve forgave all I can / I think I’ve behaved all I can / I think I’ve hated all I can / I think I’ve seethed/soothed all I can / I think I’ve risked all I can / I think I’ve run all I can / I think I’ve thought/fought all I can / I think I’ve found all I can / I think I’ve lost all I can / I think I’ve jeered all I can / I think I’ve steered all I can / I think I’ve stoned all I can / I think I’ve received all I can / I think I’ve pushed all I can / I think I’ve delivered all I can / I think I’ve doubted all I can / I think I’ve believed all I can / I think I’ve provoked all I can / I think I’ve rounded(?) all I can / I think I’ve stayed all I can / I think I’ve strayed all I can / I think I’ve destroyed all I can / I think I’ve drunk all I can / I think I’ve done all I can / I think I’ve laughed & laughed & laughed & laughed & laughed & laughed & laughed / I think I’ve forgotten all I can

I originally intended this shot to be a picture of my son holding onto these balloons and taking off, floating into up into the sky … a fantasy, sotybook sort of image. However, my daughter immediately grabbed these balloons from him and started running off. So, as it turned out this eded up having a more realistic look than the one I originally intended, but I thought it turned out pretty cute with the desaturated colors throughout, except for the colorful balloons.

“Mais il est bien court le temps des cerises / Où l’on s’en va à deux cueillir en riant / Des pendants d’oreilles / Cerises d’amour aux robes pareilles / Tombant sous la feuille en gouttes de sang / Mais il est bien court le temps des cerises / Pendants de corail qu’on cueille en riant” Jean-Baptiste Clément

Fernand is probably wondering where i am ,each time i work I look for fresh fruits everywhere ,his fav.peaches ,pears and plums, sometimes i go downstairs at the cafeteria to beg for some….Everytimes he says «écoute la petite, what would you like me to buy for you ,tell me »and I say «nothing» ,he answers «They don’t have that in the stores»I t’s like a ritual …a few weeks ago ,her greatgrandaugther was hit by a drunk lady ,20 years old,I though we where gonna loose him.Hopefully everybody went to talk to him very often ,he had more fruits…and he told me last week that the girl was out of the coma and started to talk a little.Last month ,I took his picture and told him that everybody said he was a handsome man.I explained to him that his face was all over the world…..«i didn’t even comb my hair » he said,it was funny.Mr Fernand is 95 years old ,he can walk slowly but do everything by himself, never disturbing and always acting like a gentleman .A few women are after him but his wife died 6 months ago and he loved her so much ,I knew her ,a very funny lady. She had alzeimer.I hope he will be ok until I come back…Gigi

This is a result of a 35mm scanner from an old slide I brought out of archive. My Daughter and her best friend Libby.. She was such a loving dog. We were in a very special place where the water ran fast and you did not hear any vehicle’s. Replacement to get rid of the frame.

A very old analouge negative taken on Boxing Day some twenty odd years ago. This girl was living with my younger sister in Darlinghurst in Sydney at the time and yes there were drugs involved. Neither of them survived the experience. All I have left is some very old photo’s and my memories. To death us do drug. Was that a challenge, a motto or a promise. I could never work it out.

My other daughter for a change – this is Sarah – AKA InTheMaking For this shot – the title came first [one night in a dream]. So, it was scruffy jeans and trainers, and old tiles on the bottom half. For this I pulled back the carpet to expose the bare tiles underneath and placed some old plasterboard against the wall under the window. We made some tears in a pair of Sarah’s jeans and rubbed some dirt into her trainers. The top half needed to be glitz [items of costume jewellery and my wedding ring], jewels and a red carpet – the wine, well that is just cold tea . I used normal household lighting and just pointed the lampshade in her direction with a soft pearly bulb at 40W. I wanted mono [for rags] and colour [for riches] in the shot, which I achieved in photoshop post production, but not just straight forward selective colouring – it had to graduate in intensity from left to right to get it correct with the perspective I used for the shot. Hope you like it – Sarah will be watching your reponses with a keen eye no doubt.

A cheeky, young Cambodian boy looks down through a floor. The house was on stilts and I had to lie down on the ground and shoot upwards to get this picture.

Ian Rilen was a legendary Sydney rock and roller and a member of bands such as Rose Tattoo, X and Sardine V. He died earlier this year and is much missed for his wild and wonderful ways. I found this candid back stage shot of him and his then wife Stephanie preparing to go onstage at the Trade Union Club in Sydney’s Surry Hills way way back in the early 80’s. They were in Sardine V at that time and when I look at this shot now the eighties rush back. Oh my misspent youth. :) So Vale Ian Rilen, I so hope things are rocking were ever you are. This shot is for you.

Everything on the walls behind the kid is work that I did either in grade school or high school. Yes, I still have EVERYTHING that I did back then. It’s taking over every nook and cranny in my house, much to the chagrin of my loving wife. What can I say, I’m sort of a pack rat. Do I really need the cartoons I scribbled on my math homework when I was eight? No. Am I going to keep it anyway? You better believe it.
