  • Ἀπόλλων: Phoebus, of you even the swan sings with clear voice to the beating of his wings, as he alights upon the bank by the eddying river Peneus; and of you the sweet-tongued minstrel, holding his high-pitched lyre, always sings both first and last. / And so hail to you, lord! • I’m on vacation right now and Ferdinand is probably wondering where I am,each time I work I look for fresh fruits everywhere, his fav.peaches, pears and plums, sometimes I go downstairs at the cafeteria to beg for some….Everytimes he says «écoute la petite, what would you like me to buy for you ,tell me »and I say «nothing» ,he answers «They don’t have that in the stores»I t’s like a ritual …a few weeks ago ,her greatgrandaugther was hit by a drunk driver,20 years old,I though we where gonna loose him,Ferdinand was such in pain and sad,he didn’t want to eat or smile..Hopefully everybody went to talk to him very often ,he had more fruits… he told me last week that the girl was out of the coma and started to talk a little.Last month,I took his picture and told him that everybody said he was a handsome man.I explained to him that his portrait was all over the world…..«I didn’t even comb my hair » he said,it was funny.Mr Ferdinand is 95 years old ,he walks slowly and do everything by himself, never disturbing and always acting like a gentleman .A few women are after him but his wife died 6 months ago and he loved her so much ,I knew her ,a very funny lady. She was alzeimer.I hope he will be okay until I come back…Gigi Since I upload that pic,Ferdinand was told that he was gona die in a month or so due to his sick kidneys.Don’t ask me why the doctor told him I had never understood that part….He past away after 6 months of sufferring…thank you for taking the time

  • Young couple in love enjoying a sunset in Cades Cove, Great Smoky Mountain National Park, USA. Other works in the Cades Cove Collection: About Cades Cove: Cades Cove (formally known as Tuckaleechee Cove) is found in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee, USA. Cades Cove / was a working farm valley until the 1930’s when the National Park was formed. The Park Service has attempted to recreate the 19th century feel of this farming valley and preserve it for future generations. Before the first white settler arrived on the scene, Cades Cove had been a part of the Cherokee Indians’ domain. Abrams Creek and Abrams Falls are features named for a prominent Cherokee chief named “Old Abram” who at one time lived in a village at Chilhowee on the Little Tennessee River. According to tradition, Old Abram’s wife was named Kate, and Cades (Kate’s) Cove was named after her. Please enjoy these other images:

  • Even at two years old, Lucy knows how to go for the kill. Of course, it doesn’t look like her little brother minds too much either. In a few years, we’re going to have to start keeping an eye on these two. At least we know they love each other.

  • I happened to be at the right spot ‘at the right time’ while at the Calistoga Ranch resort in Napa Valley. She was only there for a split-second and I GOT IT.

  • “Listen a hundred times; ponder a thousand times; speak once.” / - TURKISH PROVERB My son Kane had no idea I was photographing him at this time…He was just wondering sweetly along a path in a local parkland area when suddenly he stopped and leaned on the fence. I honestly could not believe what I was seeing through my viewfinder when he did it. Then when I saw the photograph it just blew me away. Kane is 3 years old in this photograph. This is my all time favourite photograph I’ve taken with my DSLR to date. Played with the colour version in photoshop and am very pleased with the outcome. (black and white ) This was taken with my 300mm Canon lense. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ WINNER of the LIVE LOVE DREAM Feel the Emotion Challenge WINNER OF WEEKLY CHALLENGE ○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○ /

  • My good friend Caroline commented that she liked the “icy” tones in this one. Since I read those words I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. I’ve spent all day thinking that I agree with her…..this image looks cold…. So my thoughts went to one of my favourite novels of all time, “The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe”, and the youngest of the Pevensie Children, Lucy, The first to discover the secret winter-bound land of Narnia. So, in honour of nagging thoughts & curious little girls, I’m re-titling this image.
