Me and my daughter Melanie in her teens, battling it out. Took the shot myself with the camera on self timer. Just told her to yell as loud as she could. It was scary how natural this came to her. Raising a daughter, especially through her teens, is about as emotionally draining as it gets. I knew support groups were available, but I opted for the mental scars… time will tell if that was the right path!!

A plan for my culminating project in art. This is just a sketch scanned into photoshop and edited so that it might look like the real thing. The real thing will be, like, 6 feet by 3 feet on butcher paper, and with gouache and gesso and stuff… I’m working on it now, and it’s so so fun :) Nothing beats traditional hand done stuff, really.

Not many pictures from me recently as work is manic at the moment and my ME is ‘troublesome’ but, just to keep things ticking over, here is another from our Shetland holiday in May. / This is one of the many peat cuttings on the island of Yell. I always look at tpeat cuttings and hope that one day I will get the photograph I want to capture these places. I have a long way to go before I please myself but this is closer than most! The photograph has been adjusted in Nikon Capture NX2 to bring out the details and then, in CS3, a gradient map has been hard mixed with this ‘original’ to create this effect.
