  • Yes…it’s another random and spontaneous “still life” I chose to shoot while reading. :)

  • At the top of the rock …

  • Taken beneath the cliffs at Bundeena, Royal National Park just south of Sydney during a late afternoon storm.

  • This dried-up tree seemed to be stretching, yearning towards the water-laden heavens, desperate for a quenching rain shower. This photo was taken in North Carolina’s Outer Banks, at Jockeys Ridge Sand Dunes. It’s only a few minutes from where the first flight took off at Wright Memorial Park. Jockeys Ridge is a state park and also the practice location of a hang-gliding school. We saw several gliders on the ground that day, but nobody gliding. The sand was burning-hot and biting on our feet as we explored.

  • Toward evening they came to a great forest, where the trees grew so big and close together that their branches met over the road of yellow brick. It was almost dark under the trees, for the branches shut out the daylight; but the travelers did not stop, and went on into the forest. “If this road goes in, it must come out,” said the Scarecrow, “and as the Emerald City is at the other end of the road, we must go wherever it leads us.” “Anyone would know that,” said Dorothy. - The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum.

  • As a teacher , seeing this boy peeking through the window into the classroom in Vietnam quite broke my heart. Sadly getting enough food for the family and harvesting the rice can be a much higher priority for some families than their children’s education. And who can blame them for that …

pull the night down in ink blots for me

  • I was in the living room of a dear friend. This book was open to this page with the old-fashioned clock on the cover. I then…briefly laid my glass of wine atop of the page to show that “Time Is Of The Essence” in this randomly thought up ‘still life’ moment.

  • Souls that have toil’d and wrought, and thought with me- / That ever with a frolic welcome took / The thunder and the sunshine, and opposed / Free hearts, free foreheads-you and I are old; / Old age hath yet his honour and his toil; / Death closes all; but something ere the end, / Some work of noble note, may yet be done, / Not unbecoming men that strove with Gods. / The lights begin to twinkle from the rocks: / The long day wanes: the slow moon climbs: the deep / Moans round with many voices. Come, my friends, / ‘Tis not too late to seek a newer world…....... Words by Lord Alfred Tennyson Music – Dreamcatcher Painting using acrylic, inks, pigment and graphite.

  • The Soul Doctor
    by silverstrummer - David Everitt

no friends to converse / there is no intent / Analysing your every question

Everyone sometime in their life goes into their own soul to try and make some sense of how one feels when the cards are down and you feel out of luck. / Looking deep into your self worth reminds you of how important you are to your family and friends. / How hurt they would be …... if all you had was the end of your life to see.
