This one of our local Churcches, taken on a damp dark day, sort of the right day for churches and grave yards. Almost desaturated it to darken the feel.

A white tail doe has been bringing her twins to the back yard lately. Yesterday (July 2/09) was the first time they stayed for any length of time. They were actually kind enough to let me wander back to the house, get the camera, change lenses and get back outside for a half dozen or so snaps. Alone, she prays for her chance to escape, he’s had her held here for what seems like months..she keeps going back to that day she was snatched from her world, it was a beautiful day, she took that short walk through the woods to the little lake that she has come to since she was a little girl, not knowing the evil that was lurking and watching, and now she’s here, held against her will..his prisoner.. she lays down on the dirt floor, closes her eyes and escapes to her dreams..the dreams of being Anywhere BUT here. Featured “The Woman Photographer” September 1009 Situated in the tree overhanging my balcony. The night prowler … from the Koala invasion series ... and this includes home invasion!!! Not break and enter as front door was open. I am calling the series … The Koala Caper / My belief is that this expression is one of smugness!! This painting was featured both in Monochrome and in Just Watercolors. Every now and then working in Monochrome is a treat. Rather than focusing so much on color, you can concentrate on light and dark and shape and form. It is a different exercise and one I enjoy. The medium is watercolor, I use Arches cold pressed 100% cotton paper, and the dimensions of the original painting are 14 inches x 16 inches.

My Ansco Rediflex arrived in the mail today and after spending the rest of the day creating the dark box to marry my DSLR to the Rediflex, I was finally ready to take my first shots at dusk. See here for photos and description of my dark box contraption This is my favourite tree in my backyard. I look out at it every day and have wanted to capture it, but nothing has worked until today. I tweaked the levels in this one to get a cross processed look. Slight adjustment of lightness, contrast and brightness. Cropped to a square. Best on Full Size On the Keystone State-Pennsylvania’s shoot at the Breakaway farm near Lancaster PA, I got to reconnect with my childhood and enjoy some very newly-hatched baby chicks. Even got to hold one!!!!! What great memories came whizzing back!!!
