  • Bush walk trail
    by georgieboy98

    US$3.99–US$91.20

Another scene on one of the many walking trails in our local Yanchep National Park, 50 kms north of Perth, Western Australia. Was a nice day for bush walking – fairly cool.

  • We were out walking the fairways in the Yanchep National Park when, as is the way with new mums, this one hopped across to show off her new baby – or joey as they are known. She posed quite happily for me as you can see. This is just 50 kms north of the Perth CBD and the national park is the oldest in Western Australia.

  • Ocean wave
    by georgieboy98

    US$3.99–US$91.20

Friday was an overcast day but we went for an afternoon stroll along the beach anyway. There was more wave action than we thought there would be and this is just one of the 75+ photos I took! The beach is Yanchep Lagoon, some 55 kms north of Perth and the ocean is the Indian.

  • Lakeside scene
    by georgieboy98

    US$3.99–US$91.20

Another HDR processed photo of one of the many little photogenic areas on Lake Wagardu in the Yanchep National Park, 50 kms north of Perth, Western Australia. I shot it in RAW with an ISO of 200, aperture preferred, 3 exposures ranging from -1 through to +1 Processing was done in Photomatix

  • A mid winter view of the Indian Ocean at Yanchep Lagoon, on the Western Australian coast some 60 kms north of Perth. I was attracted by the wild gazanias that are growing in profusion in all sorts of unlikely areas. Then, while I was studying the scene the sky miraculously cleared and this was about the only patch of blue we had seen all afternoon.

  • Koala
    by Claire Farley

    US$3.99–US$91.20

Cute Australain marsupial imported to WA. Taken at Yanchep National Park. 23/08/08

  • Stretching out
    by georgieboy98

    US$3.99–US$91.20

There’s nothing like being comfortable and this fellow was obviously of that opinion when we saw him this afternoon in our local Yanchep National Park, 50 kms north of Perth, Western Australia. There are 8 or 9 koalas in the park but because they favour the topmost limbs of gum trees for their countless hours of sleep they are not always easy to spot. This guy was a bit lower down and was quite oblivious to all the attention he was getting. This park is just 3 kms from our home.

  • Local side road
    by georgieboy98

    US$3.99–US$91.20

This really is a local side road that runs off the main road. We were forced to use it because part of the main road was still closed after the fire had swept through our area. It is in Yanchep, 50 kms north of Perth, Western Australia and was taken 19 January 09 The trees are Ficifolias, or red flowering gums.

  • Golf course view
    by georgieboy98

    US$3.99–US$17.10

An HDR processed scene of the view from the clubhouse of my local Sun City Country Club golf course. This is at Yanchep, Western Australia, 55 kms north of Perth and just 5 minutes from the Indian Ocean. The photo is the result of three exposures ranging from -2 to +2

  • That is the question.

  • This was taken at Capricorn Beach, yanchep, Western Australia just a few minutes from our home.

  • Rock and wave
    by georgieboy98

    US$3.99–US$17.10

Another scene from our beach walk along the shores of the Indian Ocean at Yanchep, Western Australia. If you look closely you can see the kayaker still out there. It wouldn’t hurt to mention that this was taken just a few days ago at about the end of the first week of winter

  • Amazing sight
    by georgieboy98

    US$3.99–US$91.20

We went down to the ocean for a breath of air this afternoon and were greeted with this sight – something I have never seen quite like this before. It was actually the sun’s rays shining through a low cloud.

  • We paid a (fairly) early morning visit to our local beach – about 5 minutes from home – to see the high tide on the morning after a mighty storm had gone through. It wasn’t as impressive as we thought it might have been but i still managed to take a whole heap of photos, of which this is just one. The location is Yanchep on the Indian Ocean coast of Western Australia about 60 kms north of Perth. I should add that this was almost exactly mid winter..

  • Colour in the bush
    by georgieboy98

    US$3.99–US$91.20

Taken this afternoon while we were on a bush walk through the Yanchep National Park, 50 kms north of Perth, Western Australia. Although we still have another 4 weeks left in winter the bush is starting to come alive, not only with the golden wattles but also with some of the early wildflowers such as Cats Paws, Hardenbergias,Yanchep Rose etc. It changes almost on a daily basis now and after above average rainfall this year we are starting to get really excited about the prospects for the coming season. All the experts predict a bumper wildflower season and I’ll try to upload a few examples as the next few weeks go by.

  • Koala feeding
    by georgieboy98

    US$3.99–US$91.20

There is a colony of Koalas in the Yanchep National Park, 50 kms north of Perth, Western Australia. They are not held in captivity but certainly know which side their bread is buttered because they have a never ending supply of gum leaves (their sole diet) and some great old trees in which they live. About 20 hours of their day is spent in sleep, usually in the fork of a tree. Every now and then they will wake up, feel peckish and climb down to a lower level where the leaves are particular succulent. Once they’ve had their fill they promptly climb back up, find another spot and settle down for an after dinner nap!

  • Boomerang Gorge
    by georgieboy98

    US$3.99–US$91.20

This is the same trail on which we were walking yesterday afternoon when I spotted the Fairy Orchids. It is an incredibly old part of the Yanchep National Park, 50 kms north of Perth, Western Australia and a mere 4 kms from our home. It is believed to be the remnants of an ancient cave system (there are well over 100 caves in the park, of which just one is open to the public on a regular basis). / I am still waiting for my new camera to be delivered following the theft of my R1 so this photo was taken with my little Olympus digital 500 compact and given a few tweaks in Photoshop plus a touch of HDR

  • Beach at dusk
    by georgieboy98

    US$3.99–US$91.20

The setting sun strikes one of our local beaches at Two Rocks, some 65 kms north of Perth, Western Australia

  • Yanchep at Sunset
    by Hayley Solich

    US$4.99–US$114.00

I love the simple beauty of a sunset. It’s breathtaking and glorious. Taken on New Year’s eve at Yanchep Beach, Western Australia, it was so beautiful, intriguing and captivating.

  • Sundowner.
    by Lynda Kerr

    US$4.48–US$102.60

Lake McNess is alive with activity as birds and wildlife settle in for the evening at Yanchep National Park, although this scene depicts otherwise.

  • Silent
    by Lynda Kerr

    US$4.66–US$106.40

  • Musk diver
    by Trevor Needham

    US$3.99–US$91.20

This is a musk duck diving in Loch McNess, Yanchep National Park, an hour’s drive north of Perth, Western Australia. If you look carefully (view larger size) you can just see the duck’s body under the water at the bottom of the image.
