  I will be getting copy of the xrays. What has happened to Loki is a ‘rotated fracture of the distal femur growth plate’. Unfortunately, it can’t just be left alone to heal on its’ own as it’s got his knee cap on it too. It has to be rotated back to it’s original position, and pinned to the femur. It’s because of the growth plate. If that isn’t reattached, Loki’s leg will not grow for one thing, the other is there is that the fractured part is free floating. Vet did try to manipulate it into place for a possible soft splinted cast, but it didn’t work. The goodish news is Loki is young and will heal fast, and worst case scenario is he might have a slight limp, but with being young he will adapt to it. Vet expects full recovery. The bill… It’s going to be close to 2k. :/ Hubby made ‘jokes’ before we got that bad news about just getting a new kitten, not realising I would spend most of the day an emotional wreck. Yeah yeah, some people that don’t have pets, or just think of them as dumb animals won’t understand how they become part of your life. But responsible pet owners know that having a pet is like having a non verbal child. If they are sick or hurt, you have the responsibility to take care of it. His ‘penny wise, pound foolish’ has come up to bite him on the butt. I had been asking for years to get pet insurance. The yearly cost for covering both our hairballs would have been what this emergency office visit bill, not including the surgical fee, just the emergency exam and xray charge. He doesn’t know it yet, but I was so rattled by his ‘just get a new kitten” comment just got it. Might not cover this injury with Loki, but all others will be. He found out later just how upset his ‘joke’ made me, and he has been very contrite and kind. Loki gets operated on today. It will be a long day. Any and all Loki marked sales will go to defray cost of Loki’s vet bills. I know lots of people scam, but I will provide photographs, and copies of vet bills.   Wow its only saturday and its been one heck of a weekend! Firstly I ended up walking out on a specialist appointment! The dude was a total jerk towards me and very unprofessional so I being the lady that I am told him where to go and how to get there in no uncertain terms ( I can be very fiesty when i feel someone is being unfair or unjust) then the blizzard hit!! The temperature dropped drastically and quickly so i had to race around and put up plastic on the windows that need to be recaulked ( older house). Then just as i was about to sit down for a moments piece A client knocked on the door, waltzed in and decided we were having an hour long meeting! Yeah umm ever heard of a phone and actually scheduling? I had my neices and nephews with me last night so that their parents could do some xmas shopping without the kids. As they were leaving my daughter took a nasty tumble off a stool and hurt her ankle! I couldn’t even touch her toe or leg lightly. Due to the blizzard i had to wait until this morning to attempt to make the trip up to the E.r for xrays! the roads are horrible but the one good thing about the blizzard is the E.R was empty so we were able to get in and out within an hour … a very rare oddity!! Normally its a 4-6 hr wait! thankfully nothing is broken but she does have a high ankle sprain (football term) her ankle is sprained as well as part of her calf! So she will be on crutches for the next 4-6 weeks. She’s not a happy camper since she is supposed to be doing a dance routine for the xmas concert this year. They have been working so hard on it and now she won’t be able to! And she’s really annoyed that she won’t be able to go out and play in all the snow.sigh can anything else go wrong this weekend?? time to go shovel ( we had about 5 inches of snow over night) again and then hopefully settle in to some editing time!
