Submission for Snail Mail letterbox hunt! Not the most whacky, but hey I haven’t found anything to beat my koala or Ned Kelly yet!
This is a little further on from where I live, but a short bike ride around the bay. There never seems to be anyone in these boats except teems of Seagulls, Pelicans and other bird life. I would hate to be hopping in and sitting down after they have been hanging out there. Loads of pressies left behind I imagine. Enjoy!
On the way to the water, a house I pass! I love corrugated iron, call me weird, but I dig it, so was inspired to stop and take a photo.
I think this is self explanatory!
More of the Esplanade in Altona, where all the action happens.a
On the bay here the wind can get pretty full on, so Altona is a major place for kite surfers to congregate and battle it out against old blowy! It is an amazing sight when there is about 20 or so of them scattered along the shore, jumping and flipping as they scoot across the water! I am desperate to try it, but have not the extra money to give it a go yet…... one day =)
This was an absolute fluke of a shot…. I was all set up to take a similar one to Saying Hello when a woman walked past me and just as my finger hit the shutter, her little foot appeared in my view finder…. at first I was cursing her for it, but then when I came to it later, I am thanking her. It works for me in so many ways. And this completes our journey! I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have loved capturing and delivering it to you. =)
So I scanned a whole heap of the first roll of film that I put through my Holga at Cristmas time last year, and when I got prints back off the negatives, they were really blown out and look absolutely terrible… So when I got home and scanned the negs into my computer I thought that they would be absolutely crap, so I wasn’t surprised when they came out how they did…. Anyway, I recently got my lil hands on a CanoScan and have been re-scanning my negs as this lil baby is actually equipped for the job, and lo and behold, my holga shots have taken on a whole new life.. They look a million times better… So this is a re-scan of my lantern of which you can find the original here and see for yourself the difference between my crappy scanner and this new absolutely brilliant toy! Yay! p.s. don’t always trust where you have your images printed either, they sometimes frack it up! If you would like a larger version of this please bmail me
So I am still gathering photos for the CD cover I am designing for the Famous Blue Raincoat, and you will recognise the scene, but I just adored how this came out… Shot on 35mm out of date slide film cross processed… Because it is so dark inside and the dark areas are black I love how you cannot see where the frame ends and the new one begins to make the perfect panorama!
This was taken a few weeks back on a trip with my partner Ruben, his mum and our son to visit Rubens brother in the Snowy Mountains… Had my Holga on hand, totally had the wrong speed film inside unfortunately because all the snow shots were blown way out… This is one of the few that turned out okay… I like how serene it is…. I mean, hows the serenity really =D
I had a roll of out of date 35 slide film in my slr too, which I cross processed… they turned out a hell of a lot better than the Holga shots…. I wanted to share this one, cause I like the flare on the right image… Enjoy…
Some more snowy goodness…
This is another Holga shot that I took up in Jindabyne…. I had saved this in some weird place on my computer and hence had lost track of it until this morning… I like it – I want to share it. Enjoy =D

Slide film cross-processed with curves and blending. Canon EOS 500, iso 100.
lomo photo overlayed (in PS) onto an oil painting of blended warm colors. Creates ( i think ) a nice vanila sky effect.
