The Bytowne Cinema is a downtown Ottawa movie theatre that is celebrating its 20 years of existence. Going to the Bytowne is like going back in time. The seats are old and the screen is small but there is nostalgia and a feeling of warmth and realness that you do not get anymore from the large multiplexes of today. The popcorn is amazing and more importantly you do not have to mortgage your house to go see a great movie. With an annual membership, your movie ticket is $ 6!! And they show the best movies …okay my movie taste are along the lines of documentaries and anything and everything foreign so this is the theatre for me! This weekend I attended a stag-do in Woolacombe, and in between the drinking and general tomfoolery, we managed to hit the beach for a few hours. Some of the group decided to go for a surf (not me – my feet are happiest when they’re on dry land, thanks very much…!), so I followed with camera in hand… (Can you guess which one is the stag…??!!) Canon 400D, f4, 1/800, 76mm, ISO100, cross-processed in Photoshop using the Curves Adjustment layer. Red and green highlights were boosted, shadows reduced, and blue highlights were reduced and shadows boosted. See more of my work at Dan Biggins Photography.
