Up here in the NE corner of Wyoming winter can start quite early .. in fact it usually snows the first time in September .. kinda late this year … thought I’d snap a pic to share with you … as you can see it’s still green under that white and the snow borders on rain today … suppose to snow for the next few days .. heavier at night … first snows are nice (smile) .. just don’t ask me what I think about snow when January rolls around .. in fact we could even have a blizzard in April … been told (never seen it myself) that it’s even snowed on the 5th of July!! ... for anyone interested trees are precious in NE Wyoming .. only reason we have them is that they were planted as a windbreak on the original homestead and are over 60 years old! they’re Siberian Elms… and the bench used to by my couch from the now turned into a storage shed trailer .. should have painted or sealed it this summer .. oh well .. maybe next year (grin) ... owlspook 081010

We’re headed West!! My husband and I are taking a somewhat spontaneous trip out West to pick up a camper and truck to store for a friend over the summer. This involves a one way flight from Omaha, Nebraska to Bozeman, Montana ($79!) What a deal!! And then we drive the whole outfit back home to Vermillion, South Dakota. Now - I’m the traveller in this marriage and my husband is not - though he did enjoy Wyoming and Montana very much last summer. We haven’t decided exactly on our route home but I ‘m trying very hard to talk him out of the “straight shot” of Interstate 90 ALL THE WAY (yawn!!). I want so badly to take the Beartooth Highway (212) .. also known as America’s Most Beautiful Highway. But I know this is out of the way. We will for sure be taking 3 days—maybe 4 to get home. So if anyone knows of great places in Montana or Wyoming along the Interstate 90 or from Yellowstone Park heading East through Wyoming on 14 that are a “must see” I would certainly welcome your suggestions!! Our flight leaves at 6 a.m. Wednesday so I’ll see ya’all again next week! / Dawne

I haven’t been able to comment on your new work and celebrate in your accomplishments because I have been gone since Saturday and just returned home and before that I had been sick with the flu and was only able to do a little each day for about 10 days-- So now I’m back from our trip and feeling better I will try to catch up on all the happenings I have missed here on the RB in the next few days! We went to Yellowstone National Park and Jackson Hole Wyoming, and Lava Hot Springs, Soda Springs and Grace Idaho…. where we bought 50 lb bags of wonderful yummy Idaho potatoes. I took a ton of pictures and will be going through them to see how they turned out. Hopefully I was able to capture some of the beautiful scenery we were privileged to see in that gorgeous part of the United States. So I can upload and share with you all.
