World Youth Day 2008, censorship laws. My graphic protest.

happier by the minute I know, this is “how to win friends and Influence people” 101. I can’t help myself-whenever people begin heading down one direction, I can’t help but be smart about it-and play the other direction. I like to push buttons. I’ve been to plenty of protests and campaigned for human rights. I have rallied against this kind of law before. We’re smarter than this! the police are often given draconian laws, the media will help us ‘voice our opinion about our rights being taken away then gloat with glee as protesters are bailed up by police and made to look like they were just doing their job. Which they were. Because they had a broad scope for what’s annoying. Is this t-shirt annoying? It makes you think you should…that it’s talking about what other extremists have done and then it insults you for…and who are YOU? it’s a win-win, lose lose kinda t-shirt. So annoying!
well, I guess the wyd challenge is over? I thought I’d make something balanced: no one can make you think anything. Or be, feel, do. You just are, and if they aren’t, so be it.
new mask
It was a priviledge to be part of World Youth Day, even though I can in no way be considered youthful. It was wonderful to see so many young people enjoying each other’s company without the use of artificial stimulants. It CAN be done!
This is the cathedral (St Mary’s) where the Pope was chilling at for WYD. The picture was taken a few days before he arrived. In the back ground you will see the moon and Centre Point Tower.
On 19th July 2008 hundreds of thousands of pilgrims arrived in Sydney and made the 9km pilgrimage from North Sydney, over Sydney Harbour Bridge to Randwick race course.
This photo was taken at the WYD festivities, artists from around Australia where asked to decorate a Jesus. I liked this Jesus as it was a mirror mosiac.
WYD, World Youth Day, He said he was, American and Proud of it.
just got inspired from the recent world youth day :)
Another part of my God/Jesus photos, it was captured at WYD, I just love the detail.
WYD, This photo was taken by christian marches, Pitt Street Sydney. I have intentionally left it dark, the same effect is not found when I have added light to it.
