  • From my Abstract Nature series, created in camera with minimal to no post processing.

  • The third of the West Australian ‘Jarrah’ images from my Abstract Nature series, with effects created totally in camera with minimal to no post processing.

  • Another one from my Abstract Nature series – images created totally in camera with minimal-to-no post processing. The challenge for me is to create a visually pleasing abstract image without resorting to using effects in my graphics program. When I do make adjustments to my abstract photography, I limit myself to minor adjustments in contrast and maybe a smidge of brightness. If the image needs anything else, it gets relegated to the discard pile!

  • Another image in the Abstract Nature series – images created totally in camera with minimal-to-no post processing. This image captures the setting sunlight dancing off spirit trees in the Jarrah forest in Western Australia. This image was Featured in the Impressionist Photography group on 5 August 2009. The challenge for me with this series is to create a visually pleasing abstract image without resorting to using effects in my graphics program. When I do make adjustments to my abstract photography, I limit myself to only minor adjustments in contrast and maybe a smidge of brightness. If the image needs anything more than minor tweakings, it goes into the discard pile!

  • Acrylic painting on canvas of ‘Moe’ a very happy Pug:) Who could resist that face!

  • Reprinted from my original colour pencil painting on drafting film of our cat “Tara” The look on her face is priceless and very typical ‘Tara’ look. Tara is not your average friendly physically affectionate cat, and for good reason. Tara and her litter mates were dumped in the bush as kittens when they were 6-8 weeks old, and eight years later she still hasn’t totally overcome her mistrust of humans. Tara is quite attached to our family in her own way, she is very timid, dosn’t like to be touched or picked up. It has taken a lot of patience and gentle persistence and as long as we don’t push her to do anything she dosn’t want to do, she seems to be quite happy being close to us without being a lap cat.

  • Who can resist this gorgeous Newfie puppy, bathed in the colours of the rainbow and sunshine? He’s sure to bring a smile to any dog lovers face! I really wanted to bring out the playfulness of this Newfoundland puppy and found decided that some bold and colourful pastels would be the perfect medium. This piece is a lot looser and more painterly compared to my normal highly detailed level of realism, but I certainly had fun painting it! Reproductions of this beautiful colourful and very expressive original pastel painting of a Newfoundland puppy by Michelle Wrighton.

  • My beautiful big boy Tommy (Happy Knight NZ).

  • Preserving the past in Photographs, “Cogs” is the first in my Rustic Relics series of subjects found in my travels through rural Western Australia.
