Car wrecker’s yard in Bayswater, Victoria.
Wall at a car wrecker’s in the outer east of Melbourne.
the arizona desert can be a harsh place to drive, especially 50 years ago…radiators would overheat, tires would swell and go flat and the lack of air conditioning would test the endurance of the most hardy…then, after almost 1800 miles, there were the mountains…route 66 reached the mountains in western arizona…here the going got even worse…switch backs up and over and down would put a worthy vehicle to the test…there at the base was cool springs, the last oasis before heading up and over…here you could get fresh water, a cool drink and have the car looked over before the grueling climb toward california…pictured here was the alternative…for those unable to make it, their only hope was to be towed back to the start and get patched up for another try…
The Sisters lie off the North Cornwall coast at Willapark near Bossiney. This picture was taken on the 12th March 2008 at the tail end of three days of violent storms. To give an idea of scale, the white dots on the rocks are gulls. Not for nothing is the coast from Padstow to Hartland Point known as a graveyard for ships.
Margate, Tasmania.
Just about every planet in the universe as a wreckers beach, something to lure those ships onto the rocks. / Such is the case here on Regelis Prime. This is a photo with an Artmatic backdrop then a few filters and some cloning.
Who knows why, after all the moving out, all that was left was a couple of cakes of soap, some cleaning products and an office chair? In the sunroom, with the roof and the glazing gone, exposed to the bracing winter wind that gusted through the once warm house. Did someone die in the chair? Did someone make love in it? What long forgotten pieces of essential “news” were read by the occupier? And tomorrow, the claws of the machine will pluck it from its esconcement, piercing the leather that once was part of a living cow, twisting the metal ripped from the depths of the earth, and depositing it on a pile of ruins.
Part of a photo series we captured of a traffic accident in downtown Charleston involving an SUV & a truck. The SUV rolled-over on its top. This photo was taken as it was being towed away. Notice the cracked windshield. (See also our “First Responders” photo.) Chad & Gary
Found this old International flat bed at a iron and metal scrap yard. I’m sure she gave many years of great service to her owner.. Processed as a HDR photograph it would make a beautiful card or picture to hang on any wall. Photographer / Robert Berry /
From the Last Haul series.. I had to go back and visit this old friend. Still where I left her the last time, she keeps getting better with age and always beckons me back.. Processed as a HDR it would make a beautiful card or picture to hang on any wall. Photographer / Robert Berry / Nikon D80 18-135mm Nikkor Lense
