A wreath or crown decorated with beads and feathers. This wreath was gifted to me by the eldest daughter of a family who I stayed with (tented in their back yard) for about two months in Canaima, Venezuela. She was so nervous to give it to me that she made the youngest daughter of the family do it. Only later did the mother tell me who it was really from. The sheepish smile on the girl’s face already belied the ruse however. I was rushing to leave on one of the harrowing flights that often took off from there cargo or weekend tourists. I thanked her and rushed off to the dirt runway. On my way there an elderly women sitting on her stoop busy with her own artesania laughingly asked me where i got the crownfrom, I told her upon which she informed me it was for a compromiso or engagement. I quickly found the pilot and plane. So I guess i am engaged…
Bridal wreath is one of those spring flowers that are just enchanting. Mini bouquets of tiny white florets (thanks, Krys) interspersed along long willowy branches, these little beauties are a welcome sight as winter fades and spring greets us with her sunny blue skies.
More Photoshop play with a combination of layers. This idea came with the change in time and weather. Model Matting and framing is available at Red Bubble. / Thank you for stopping by! Thank you for stopping by!!

Just a decorative piece I made from illustrations (pen and ink) of various trees and plants on one of my favourite walks in the Rimutaka forest park. I would have drawn these on-site but its generally veiled in sheets of misty rain, making sketching kind of like drawing on wet toilet paper with a wire brush… Hmmm!! If you’d like a version with text of any sort added, let me know and I’ll make one up for you.
This is a little red chapel nestled in the woods on the floor of Yosemite. It was a very cold, snowy winter day around Christmas time.
A romantic photo with a hint of retro added in for good measure.
This little image was a lot of fun to create. I started out snapping a lovely green wreath on the side of a red barn between Pavia and Osterburg, Pennsylvania on Route 869 … then added snow in Photoshop!! Image also available with “Merry Christmas” and “Season’s Greetings” greetings as well!! Original image shot with the Nikon D40x on January 20, 2009. Shutter 1/80, aperture f/5.6, exposure -.33, iso 400.
