Gray Mini Lop Ear rabbit with Christmas tree and gifts and wearing red and white stocking hat, isolated on white background
Victorian Home in small town
Vintage style photographic art for the holidays. Quote: “The Best Christmas Presents Come In Small Packages.” A fun little reminder and inspiration to all of us who tend to get stressed and anxious during the Christmas season … it’s that special bonding with your children, family, and friends that make the Christmas season so meaningful.
Here is a lovely Christmas present for you, all wrapped up with pretty red ribbon. Actually it began life as another out of focus (no flash) photo of the municipal Christmas tree at the St. Pete Pier. It had such a wonderful abstract feel to it straight off the camera, that I though just a little sharpening and contrast enhancement would be enough. But then … Then it inspired me to gift wrap it for you to go under you tree, on your wall, or in the mail as a cheerful greeting. Digital photo shot with an HP Photosmart R818, without flash.

In it contains all the well wishes and blessings for my friends! Here is a little poem which I love very much, it expresses the spirit behind Christmas in such a sweet and meaningful way! :D The Joy of Giving Somehow, not only for Christmas, / But all the long year through, / The joy that you give to others / Is the joy that comes back to you; / And the more you spend in blessing / The poor and lonely and sad, / The more of your heart’s possessing / Returns to make you glad. This is a detail phototgraph of one of my Pastel and Prismacolor Pencil Drawings… “Wrapped In Tradition #4”. / Drawn on card stock, acid free, bonded artist drawing paper. This is again a study in just lines and blocks of color. I try and get my students to see just the line of a shape, and blocks of color that you put close together. This is the classic “Right Brain” approach to just trying to get something on canvasor drawing paper…stop naming what you see and just paint the shapes and the colors. “Wrapped in Tradition #4” is another in a series I have started by request, for my private students so they have easier access to my collection in detail for study. / My Fine Art and Photograph Studio is located in Mesquite, Nevada. / Thank your for viewing my art. This week we admired some wonderful artwork from these new bubblers: And we enjoyed works from writers who have recently joined the RedBubble community: Sarah ORourke provided us with a wonderful behind the scenes look at the Mirrors charity art exhibition opening night featuring works from a number of bubblers incuding Karin Taylor, Cynthia Lund Torroll, Bec Winnel, Caitlin Shearer, Steph Granshaw, Mimi Yoon, AWarr and Remus Grecu. Mirrors was organised to benefit The Butterfly foundation, raising funds & awareness surrounding the complex issues of Eating Disorders & Body Image through Art. Australian Travel Photography and Writing group asked for help in supporting the Aussie Helpers charity organisation – and received a generous offer from bubbler Tania Rose. The winning works from the Rejuvenation Challenge went up for display at Mandala Wines in the Yarra Valley. Congratulations to the winners and to everyone who took part. Rob Toombs shared a lighting tip for photographing steam or smoke skinnyman gave us an update on the UK Meet Up planned for December EOS20 wrote a great review on the Canon EOS 7D Martyn Baker shared some thoughts on his first exhibition experience autumnwind said thanks to hosts of The World As We See It, Or As We Missed It Congrats to ToastedGhost who’s works are now on display at “Probody” inside the Imperial Arcade, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. The manager of Probody, which is a Piercing and Tattoo Studio, tracked him down on RedBubble after finding his business cards in a local cafe. Earthmonster Illustrated’s special Halloween Edition was launched, featuring zombies and ghouls, killer pumpkins, ghosts stories and some of the best creepy, spooky art RedBubble has to offer. Trick or Treat by Matt Mawson This week we’d like to say a special thanks to Mimi Yoon. Mimi is not only an incredibly talented artist, she’s wonderful at encouraging and supporting other bubblers. She takes part in collaborations, donates works to worthy causes, leaves generous, thoughtful and insightful comments and contributes wonderfully to making the RedBubble community a supportive and inspiring place. Thanks Mimi! And last but not least, Mr Baxter awarded this week’s buyer’s both prize to a very professional looking photo from Donald Cameron. Donald will be rewarded with a US$30 voucher for his troubles. If you’d like to be in the running for the weekly prize, just upload a suitably creative buyer’s booth photo featuring your recent purchases. We can’t squeeze any more action into one journal so we’d love to hear your own highlights. Let us know what you got up to this week … Nat
