14 February 2009 ~ Late afternoon ~ Snapper Rocks On Friday a low pressure system formed off Gladstone late on Friday generating a large storm swell along Australia’s East Coast. By Saturday afternoon the swell had risen to a rather decent size making the paddle out rather precarious! (Canon 40D, 500mm handheld, touch of contrast, minor crop, no photoshop)

I was at the park the other day with my grandchild .. and saw this bird on the monkeybar:).. looked as if he had all the time in the world..and not a care to his name. so I painted him and hope you enjoy it. as much as I did watching him. . The sparrow is a small bird that is not considered to be of much consequence. It is too small to be much of a meal, shows how much God pays attention to. “The very hairs on your head are numbered.” and then this happened amongst two .. we didnt know each other really .. but this came of our art. as we became friends.. throught the process of creating this peice. oh , please read more when you got a changce and visit it here / Hope is a thing with Feathers /

I have been trying out various black and white methods and I thought I should give this one a go. / I took this picture without them knowing. / It looked like although the grandfather didn’t have much money, he still managed to buy is grandson an ice cream. Taken in Bristol on Colston Street.
stock / GSDark-Stock sxc.hu My dear new friend wrote this beautiful poem and she felt it fit well with my picture… / I couldn’t agree more and I’m honored she is allowing me to post her writing with my art. The Child Within Me Crouched in the corner of my heart. / Tears well up in her eyes as she comes into the light. / Begging for a crumb, Just a taste of love. / Instead your silence cuts deep. / Like a slap in the face. / Big green eyes look away. / weeping silently within me, arms wrapped tightly around herself. / suffocating on the knot that has formed in her throat. / Alone and rejected she begins to rock back and forth. / she swallows her pain silently in the dark. / you can’t see her there…whimpering and shaken. / when you look deep within my eyes, I will cast my gaze downward. / For You might catch a glimpse of her if I stare too long. / Too afraid to trust … / She resides … forever tucked away, / deep within my soul. / Yvonne Emerson 05”

Felix was very worried about me taking the photographs of the horses this evening. He waited patiently in the gateway, watching and waiting with a rather concerned expression on his lovely face. I think he was worried that they may eat me – then who would feed him his biscuits…. ! Got to get your priorities right in life!!!

Strange fantasy creature has some wise advice for us when our stress level starts to rise…. Don’t sweat the petty things, and don’t pet the sweaty things. Humor for home or the office.
Oh ya, this kid is gonna make that cat pay. He’s gonna make him pay hardcore. The cat knows it too. He knows it’s coming and it’s gonna come hard, he just doesn’t know when. Chewing through the wire for Timmy’s XBox controller is the very last mistake Mr. Whiskers will ever make.

Dire Straits – Why Worry An eternal light of love, friendship and understanding casting shadows over memories which will last forever….xox
Some positive words to ponder. Your mind is a garden. Every thought you think, every word you speak, every deed you do is a seed that will be planted in the garden of your mind. If you plant bad and negative you will grow and reap bad and negative. If you plant good and positive you will grow and reap good and positive. / The Bible tells us that we reap what we sow. / © Dave Moilanen
This series is called ‘Daily Tao’. Chinese symbols taken from the book ‘Tao Daily Meditations’ by Deng Ming-Dao. The book was given to me by a dear friend, and former lover. I enjoy picking it up and reading the entries, finding something new to take from them each time. From ‘Tao Daily Meditations’ on worry: Worry is an addiction / That interferes with compassion. Worry is a problem that seems to be rampant. Perhaps it is due to the nature of our overly advanced civilization; perhaps it is a measure or our own spiritual degeneracy. Whatever the source, it is clear that worry is not useful. It is a cancer of the emotions – concern gone compulsive. It eats away at body and mind. It does no good to say, ‘Don’t think about it.’ You’ll only worry more. It is far better to keep walking your path, changing what you can. The rest must be dissolved in compassion. In this world of infants with immune deficiencies, racial injustice, economic imbalance, personal violence, and international conflict, it is impossible to address everyone’s concerns. Taking care of yourself and doing something good for those whom you meet is enough. That is compassion, and we must exercise it even in the face of the overwhelming odds. If we all did this, what would our world be like….......? / XO Jenny
