Walking along the beach I came across this derelict boat sandwhiched between 2 shiny new ones and took pity on it.

The abandoned farmhouse continues! / / After I opened the front door, I couldn’t go in. / There was a huge drop off there, so I had to go / around. ‘Worn Rabbit’ is an extension from the original series of 9 Animal Designs that are 4” x 4” canvas blocks that I created at end of 2007. I’ve utilised the selected pink or acrylic from the original series and inks on a distressed photo that I took and printed out on paper from one of my many sketch pads. The animal design series represents what we could be left with if we don¹t take care of nature and all it¹s creatures. With their charming toy like appearance, they could just end up like childhood memories.

Taken in Cody, Wyoming. / / The sun was high in the sky, beating down on my neck. My mouth was dry and my lips began to crack. Dirt covered the tips of my boots. I could smell the sagebrush that was nearby. / / I looked back behind the old western town and saw what once brought life and maybe even carried those that died. Worn broken down wagons…I swear I could hear the tired and weary dragging hooves of horses. / / I am of Native decent. I am Oneida. I am Iroquois. Wagons like these once carried my ancestors and Native brothers to reservations, boarding schools, and brought them rancide meat and blankets with smallpox. All of this went through my mind as I looked into the camera eyepiece, checked my aperture and shutter speed. If these wagons could talk I thought, then I snapped the shutter. / / Please View Larger

i found this book discarded in the gutter and rescued it – left it out in the wind and rain and voila!!

The font used was made by me. I think it looks best on gold, asphalt, and teal. I could be easily be persuaded to add a textless version that doesn’t have the “worn” look with a different colour scheme. If anyone’s interested.

Old dilapidated barn with rustic red doors. This old barn will be torn down sometime this month. Someone in the neighborhood complained that it was an “eye sore”.... so sad! Image was redone for me in HDR by Kimberly Palmer.

After the war in Bosnia in the ‘90s, there are still mines, grenade holes, bullet holes, wrecked and falling down buildings – everywhere. This room is left as it was back then. People are too scared to enter in case there are still mines that have no yet gone off. The light is beautiful.

I was just playing around with some macro shots and looking at everything from a very close perspective I guess you could say..and the worn appearance of this just caught my eye…it just reminded me how quickly time passes and how we are affected by the passing of time…even if its in little ways that we might not see at first glance…...
