This is a close up maco photograph of the common worker bumble bee found in the UK and Europe. This variety has a black hairy bidy with an orange strip on its tail and belongs to the Bombus Lapidarius family of bees. It is most likely a worker bee and is seen on the head of a bright purple flower.
