If you look closely, every group with a hit song from 1966 is in this collage. How many do you remember?
one of the most wonderful people and models I’ve had the chance of working with and meeting. www.myspace.com/mortuaree this was a very spontaneous shoot and we basically went it to it agreeing that we would try as many different styles and get as many different concepts as we could in the day.
this was greatly inspired by the recent works of www.silentshudder.com / A photography I have collaborated with on a number of photographic challenges. His style and eye for natural elements has taught me so much in discovering shadows. / Model is: / www.modelmayhem.com/822943
this was one of those shot from the hip photos. I had no idea what i was shooting but as the ground was quite muddy i just held the camera down low and prayed for a good shot…. Voila. A stunning image in my eyes :D / she is so easy to work with and so much fun. / Shot using Zuiko 35mm 1:3.5 macro lens / Model is: / www.modelmayhem.com/822943

Thanks for taking a look~ More to view-listen to… / Here “HIPPIE-ANTHEM” – “BLUMEN KINDER HYMNE” : Hot Summer Day + Wasted Union Blues / (David La Flamme) / Hot Summer Day was the second hit and tribute to the Hippie Time of the extraordinary band ” It´s a Beautiful Day”. / There were so many interests in the first hit White Bird and this band that I upload here the next two songs. / Band : Founded in 1967. / One of the most important west coast groups / at that time of “Summer of Love”. / This legendary album “It´s a Beautiful Day” / needed some years to be recognized in its quality and influence. But in the beginning / of the 70s the album became a million seller and got 2 times platin status. / The band is since some years reunited and makes tours with big success. / Members: / David La Flamme (voc., viol., composer, bandleader) / Linda La Flamme ( keyb., org., piano) / Hal Wagenet (guit.) / Pattie Santos (voc.) / Mitchell Holman (bass) / and / Val Fuentes (drums) Here as guest: Bruce Steinberg (harmonica)
The summer of 1969 was a time of change. It was the year of the Beatles swansong, the first manned moon landing, and hippies protested and clashed with the establishment over U.S. involvement in Vietnam. On a dairy farm in the town of Bethel in upper state New York, the greatest musical and cultural event of the millenium happened. The Woodstock Music & Arts Fair, billed as an Aquarian Exposition, was held during the weekend of August 15th through the 17th. Starring thirty top names in popular entertainment, the Woodstock Festival’s attendance was unprecedented for the time / Attendance estimates vary from source to source, ranging anywhere from about 75,000 on the low side, to well over 1,500,000 on the high side. The best guess, which is close to the average of all estimates, would be between a third to a half million people. It’s impossible to determine exact numbers, as the fences around the site were never completed in time, so tickets were never taken – it was a free concert. / For “three days of peace & music” Woodstock was a living, breathing, working city. In the last great multi-day music festival of our time, the young people showed the world that all those hippies could co-exist for a prolonged period of time without a catastrophe (and with little or no police intervention). / THE ARTISTS that made history… / Richie Havens / Sweetwater / Bert Sommer / Tim Hardin / Ravi Shankar / Melanie / Arlo Guthrie / Joan Baez / Quill / Country Joe McDonald / John B. Sebastian / Keef Hartley Band / SANTANA / Incredible String Band / Canned Heat / Grateful Dead / Creedance Clearwater Revival / Janis Joplin / Sly & the Family Stone / The WHO / Jefferson Airplane / Joe Cocker / Country Joe & the Fish / Leslie West/Mountain / Ten Years After / The Band / Johnny Winter / Blood, Sweat & Tears / Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young / Paul Butterfield Blues Band / Sha Na Na / Jimi Hendrix / Joni Mitchell As we approach the 40th Anniversary of the “Summer of 1969”, I thought it fitting to Launch a special challenge for our Musically Inspired Artists of MIA ~ the reason for this artwork… / Created with Wacom Pen in Photoshop with the exception of the original Woodstock poster in the center, using Redfield plug-in Fractilius filter, Poster edges and saturation filtering. It is amazing to realize that 40 years have passed since the event of a lifetime…the Woodstock Music Festival in upstate New York…the Summer of 69…the summer that changed the world. I was only 16 that summer and still living in Texas….way too far away to convince my parents that I really needed to be there… ;-) Now, 40 years later, the Spirit of Woodstock is alive and well….the music, the coming together, the Peace, Love & Happiness state of mind will live forever…. For the MIA ‘Woodstock-Summer of 69-40 Years!’ Challenge Beautiful People by Melanie is a song which still touches my heart in a very profound way…if you’ve never heard it, give it a listen…it is the Essence of Love. Beautiful people / You live in the same world as I do / But somehow I never noticed / You before today / I’m ashamed to say Beautiful people / We share the same back door / And it isn’t right / We never met before / But then / We may never meet again / If I weren’t afraid you’d laugh at me / I would run and take all your hands / And I’d gather everyone together for a day / And when we’re gather’d / I’ll pass buttons out that say / Beautiful people / Never have to be alone / ‘Cause there’ll always be someone / With the same button on as you / Include him in everything you do. Beautiful people / You ride the same subway / As I do ev’ry morning / That’s got to tell you something / We’ve got so much in common / I go the same direction that you do / So if you take care of me / Maybe I’ll take care of you Beautiful people / You look like friends of mine / And it’s about time / That someone said it here and now / I make a vow that some time, somehow / I’ll have a meeting / Invite ev’ryone you know / I’ll pass out buttons for / The ones who come to show / Beautiful people / Never ever have to be alone / ‘Cause there’ll always be someone / With the same button on as you / Include him in ev’rything you do / He may be sitting right next to you / He may be a beautiful people too / And if you take care of him / Maybe he’ll take care of you / ‘Cause all of the beautiful people do / And you’re all beautiful people too

Ok….my ‘Woodstock is 40’ Tee apparently infringed on Woodstock’s ‘intellectual rights’, so I have tweaked the design because I really like it and because I want to honor and celebrate, this, the 40th anniversary of that wonderful Summer of Peace, Love and Music….. TOP TEN, in Fantastic Primitive Art group 11/06/2009 I had so much fun doing my version of Vermeers ‘The Pearl’, I thought I would do a take on one of my other favorite Artist. Here’s my version of Gauguin. Fun Even though these are older videos I think they together give a more complete idea of what traditional Tahitian music and dance are. The group is wonderful.
