Bring Back That Old Wooden Swing My brain cells can still remember / the breeze of the wind up…
To recall the peaceful feeling of the breeze of the wind on your face, / is to remember how a childhood life of simple outdoor games can bring the peace of mind that a whole nation cannot do.
Bookends, / a pair are we / solid wood carved elephants / a token of love / from a trip, deep sea
This really did start as a ode to bookends, before growing into an observation of a partnership gone wrong. And of the deep sadness that brings…anyway i think to much!! This was keeping me awake so had to get it down on paper. No actual bookends were harmed in the writing of this piece. And the society for the protection of wooden elephants should note, the door stop thing never happened. x
