A little snow drift, where the wind has whistled through the gate, this is on the Strines in Derbyshire, it was really windy this day and so cold.
Sunset at U Bein’s Bridge – Mandalay, Burma. The bridge, made entirely of teak, is said to be the longest wooden bridge in the world. A fascinating human procession can be seen on the bridge at any time of day, but especially at sunset. A large Buddhist monastery is located at the foot of the bridge explaining the large number of monks that use it.

For some reason this reminds me of a scene from Moby Dick… minus the whale of course. / / I was actually going Cod fishing with some friends for the first time off the Eastern coast of Newfoundland…. just had to bring the camera of course. Those clouds on the horizon kicked up such a fierce wind and it created some very large swells that relieved me of my lunch lol! Buddhist Monks on U Bein’s Bridge – Mandalay, Burma. The bridge is constructed entirely of teak and is reputed to be the longest wooden bridge in the world. It is located just outside the large city of Mandalay in Central Burma. A Buddhist Monstery is situated at the foot of the bridge.

This is all that remains of a very old, rather long pier at Clifton Springs that sailing ships used to berth at 100+ years ago when bring passengers to the ‘healing waters’ of the natural springs in the area during that era.
