Trolley wont go home reveals the sinister overtones of the supermarket convenience turned urban stalker. Displaced from their primary function, errant trolleys can be found singularly or in groups lurking on median strips, congregating outside homes, and acting suspiciously in public places. Like clattering, rattling gangs of the disaffected they frustrate and antagonise residents, threaten other vehicles and evade apprehension.

THE SUBJECT: / This red ‘n’ rusty piece of machinery is part of a very old horse drawn grader that used to be employed in maintaining the logging roads back in the early days of rural settlement and industry. / For those of you who are not mechanically inclined, the subject is one side of the levelling gear for the grader blade. The horizontal “screw thingy” is a very worn worm gear and the much larger “toothed wheel thingy” is an equally worn worm wheel. The operator would stand on a platform between two of these gear sets and by rotating the worm with a large hand wheel would impart rotation to the worm gear, thus enabling him to set the blade to scrape the camber along the hard gravel tracks. Photoshop vectors (yay pen tool), with some effects. Arabic calligraphy, done to resemble a dancing woman (i would have liked to put that in spoiler tags; see who can see it without reading it). The words say: / و ماذا عنّي أنا؟ / أنا أحب. أنا أعشق. I’ve had some trouble translating it. It says: / What about me? / I love. I adore. The second part translates to “I love. I love.” when i run it through google translate. I looked for synonyms for love but I couldn’t find anything that fits perfectly and was just a single word. It’s the most romantic flavor of love, sensual, physical and heartfelt. Perfect. Original here. Original pencils: /

Remember “thou shall NOT kill”...???
