This is a very special pic of one of the last hugs I got to give my friend. We two had been friends since primary school and I thought we would grow old as friends. 1+1=2-1=lonely / At the time the picture was taken we had smiles and high hopes that she to would beat breast cancer. / She died within the year. Leaving me with lots more than 50 things I wish I had told her. / One October her husband, inspired by this photo, joined us to participate in the Glendale (NSW) Relay for Life. / I turned it sepia as it is a representation of the past that can never be re-enacted. / If I knew then what I learnt later I would have been tempted to cry and not let go of my precious friend. As it was we spent the day with hope, happiness, laughter and shared memories that made us smile. / I wish I could have another hug… Just two country girls who are too busy to waste time getting dolled up. Taken with my old Kodak camera (Which had no settings then scanned from the positive). / Thanks to the Sisters in Arms Group for featuring this work in May 2009. / Thanks to 50 Things group for featuring this image. / / Thanks to the Imagewriting Group for honouring my work by featuring this work. /
A pink ribbon for Breast Cancer Awareness and an Artist Trading Card further highlighting the issue.
Shades of pink in a swirly design make this Breast Cancer awareness t-shirt unique. A cutout of a pink ribbon is more subtle and suggestive than an actual pink ribbon, and just as effective. Check it out on all the colors of t-shirts available on redbubble – we think it looks great on the pink or the black shirts – and then wear it proudly to show your support. Makes a great gift. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
