my sister at her wedding (23.6.07)… / To achieve the soft focus on this photo I add a guassian blur to one of the channels (can’t remember which one), changed to sepia and then added a ‘soft light’ blending layer also a little dodging and burning… v. simple!

While travelling in Romania I met a mysterious woman whose wild azure eyes burned right through my skull. She told me of a crazy party at a secret club that was on that night. / It happened once a year and was only known to a select few. I asked where it was so she drew a map on my hand and told me to meet her there at 12am. / I turned up a bit early and the club was shut, quiet as a graveyard on a winters night. / So I went back to my hotel and read a book.

Lucky enough to have this amazing woman choose to marry me. / Even luckier to have her agree to pose for a couple of pics :-) (very camera shy). Inspired by my Canuck friend Shelly’s awesome portraits with a scarf (you all know her). But I chose low-key rather than high-key. Wasn’t going to put it up here …. am putting it up to show the contrast in what life eyes can have when compared to my previous pic – No Hope. Shot using: / Nikon D80 / 50mm f/1.8 / 1/40 sec in front of a window.
