Reached that stage again. Not quite finished but need to step back. / Art teacher, Melissa’s reaction was: This would look good as a large painting ! / May just go and get a large canvas, today.

Wandered along the Wollondilly River, at River Island, again, last weekend. / ... / / ... /

I pass this modest look-out so often, on the Wombeyan Cave Road, out of Mittagong, when going to, or leaving River Island Nature Retreat. / Never stop. / Well, obviously, I did, last time.
Perpendicular Rock looks down onto the Wollondilly River near Goodmans Ford on the Wombeyan Caves Road, NSW. Here its rugged crags are softened by a rising and drifting early morning mist.
(To be read in a whisper, with an Attenboroughrian accent). There I was, boys and girls, crossing the Wollondilly River at Goodman’s Ford (along the Wombean Caves Road in the Southern Highlands of NSW, Australia)... as I was saying…. All of a sudden, there was a silent clap of thunder and a streak of cloud in the sky pointed towards two figures standing on the bridge. There was something familiar about them and about their activity. Let me tell you, boys and girls, a 10-20mm lens doesn’t let you get too much detail on a distant subject. If the picture is somewhat indistinct, it’s because my heart was beating so rapidly, making it hard to focus on …... There will be a special intangible reward of a highly personal and deeply warm inner glow to anyone who can recognise either or both of these legends of the lens, these characters of the camera, these perennial presenters of the perfectly placed and processed pixel. Technical Stuff: Nikon D80, Sigma 10-20mm lens @11mm, Normal Program, Pattern metering, 1/320sec, f9, Auto Exp & WB, ISO 320.

One of the most beautiful and scenic parts of New South Wales, and of Australia, are the Southern Highlands. Since “Photography” is literally “Light Drawing”, you may notice that some of the images have been “re-worked” to reflect the direction I have taken with my work.
