A Baying Wolf, is a sad and haunting sound you dont hear anymore, to me it seems as though they knew long ago it would come to this pass, hence their howling started. A rare sound indeed. Wolves are an endangered species and have been hunted for centuries and nearly extinct, hopefull through careful conservation these beautiful beasts will be around forever and everyone can hear their special song. / / / The Forgotton Song photoshoped version /

The West Coast first people of British Columbia, Canada, have a name for killer whales or orcas…they call them sea wolves. If you have ever watched killer whales hunt, they do so like wolves.

My new wolf friend seemed to like having his pictures taken – he stared “up close and personal” right into the lens. Image captured at the Bronx Zoo where they have had much success in breeding the Wolf’s monkey. This shot was taken hand held in low light behind glass. Tripods were not allowed in this area.

A good friend and I had gone to West Yellowstone in January of 06 hoping to be able to get into the Park. Naïve as we were we had no idea the west entrance was completely shut down to all but guide travel. We found other locations to find wildlife but couldn’t resist checking out the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center. We made a quick tour and I decided it was worth the photographers fee to be able to use what I took as I saw fit. This Grey Wold howling was worth the price on its own. / / Taken at the Grizzly and Wolf Discover Center – West Yellowstone / /
