Spewing fountains a gargoyle…Withdrawn, forbidden, bruised – discarded
Is it not time as a world we stood up against abuse once and for all. Its time it was stamped out, no one should have to see or suffer mental or physical abuse. Both leave many long term issues and scars, for some healing will never come for they do not see the light of day again….
Withdrawn from my childhood / My innocence and youth / I’m standing guard with gun in hand / What else have I to lose?
In my opinion the world should taake stance and stop Mugabe from using child soldiers. He steals their innocence and their youth, times they should be out running around playing ball with other young friends. Instead he gives them guns, not toy guns either; these are the real thing and the things they then go on to see and do, I don’t like to imagine! How will these youngsters ever learn to cope away from this situation, how could they go back to being children again after such horrors, how do they then integrate back into society?
So, thanks to the suggestions of Richard Veal I have now created a black and white self-portrait… quite a stretch for me because I am not too fond of portraits or black and white. “Hiding” didn’t look so well in B&W so instead I took a new portrait with better lighting :) I am always happy to hear any suggestions for improvement! /
some experimentation with my manual exposure,, / trying to learn.. / and thanks to Chris for fog help!
I found this little guy one day while walking near my home…I waited a good while to see if he would come out of his little ball, but this is as far as he got.

written during a moment of depression otherwise referred to as daily life….
A bit of graffitti that caught my eye in Brooklyn, New York. I did some selective coloring and photo editing to clean it up a bit.
THIS WAS A PART OF LIFE STUDY ,OF EMOTIONS, IN NUDE FIGURE DRAWING AT THE ACADEMY OF ART IN SAN FRANCISCO
I imagine this being an exhibit installation…with the sound of an old telephone ringing, just like the beginning of Once Upon A Time In America.
Sometimes we just need to hide.

Ruby hangs like rope / In her world of make believe / Wide eyed and sixteen / Withdrawn from all the vermin / Now dreams are all that matter ...
The imagination is a wonderful and very powerful thing and when I was sixteen I discovered that I could use it to escape reality altogether and to create whatever I needed, someone who loved me unconditionally and a place of safety, as a means of survival. Somewhere over the rainbow / Way up high, / There’s a land that I heard of / Once in a lullaby. / Somewhere over the rainbow / Skies are blue, / And the dreams that you dare to dream / Really do come true. / Someday I’ll wish upon a star / And wake up where the clouds are far / Behind me. / Where troubles melt like lemon drops / Away above the chimney tops / That’s where you’ll find me. / Somewhere over the rainbow / Bluebirds fly. / Birds fly over the rainbow. / Why then, oh why can’t I? / If happy little bluebirds fly / Beyond the rainbow / Why, oh why can’t I? Somewhere Over The Rainbow was written by: / Edgar Yipsel “yip” Harburg / Born: Apr 08, 1896 in New York, New York / Died: Mar 05, 1981 (car accident)
