  • My inspiration… Poem Wish You Were Here by Lax When sitting here looking at / the stars, talking to them, / how I wished you were here. When sailing through the valley, / listening to the music of the stream flowing, / how I wished you were here. when walking on the carpet of autumn leaves, / through the jungle of pines, / how I wished you were here. When watching the golden rays / coming through trees, / how I wished you were here. FIRST TIME PUBLISHED / When I looked outside my restaurant in Broome I saw two cowboyheads sitting on the tables outside and I had a strong urge to make some photo’s. I spook to the two men they where from Fitzroy Crossing. They where watching a crowd of Indeginous Aboriginal men and women ‘hanging’ outside in the Plaza. They where waiting for the local liquorshop to open, In Fitzroy is now a ‘ban’ on alcohol, they told me, so Fitzroy Crossing is now a ‘dry’ Community Miss. / Broome, Western Australia. / Today I received an email stating; CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR IMAGE ‘TYPAN’ is one of 55 images from the PEOPLE & PLANET International Photo Competition. to be published in the 2009 People&Planet; Social Justice & Enviroment Diary, which will be published this month in Australia (2009). / We thought that your image was incredible, and it won from a pool of OVER 1000 images from 316 photographers from around the World! / All funds raised by the People&Planet diary go to Australia’s small non profit organisations which are working to promote social-justice and environmental substainability around the world. /

  • This is a photo of my niece that I shot before I had a digital camera. I scanned the photo, added it over and image by CruelDreams that I edited in ps by using the channel mixer, dodging, burning, cloning and added text. Took a photo of a butterfly and selected each wing section separately and cut and moved them into position using transform. Adjusted the opacity of those layers to give each wing section a transparent appearance. Painted with the airbrush tool on a lower opacity over the wings to make the colors tie in with the costume. Also used the airbrush with warm color to add the effect of light coming from her wand illuminating the darkness around her and added touches to her and her wings where I felt the light would hit.

  • While i was walking through Bikaner I saw this lovely scene and it really made me smile…it felt so good to see these animals together, like best friends…..what a joy, Rajahstan, India

  • Be Careful What You Wish For featured in THE SISTERHOOD on 23-2-09 Be Careful What You Wish For Why is it often that which / we long for is just out of reach? / Our internal conversation / How much should I reveal? / How much should I conceal? / Indeed the odyssey of mystery. / / Her beautiful face is half hidden / behind her arm / Her soft eyes closed / behind her lids / to block out the light of observation. / / Her soft pink body is framed / by the silk of her corset / textured and lined to follow her curves / Gentle and feminine and still / she beacons our eyes to see, our hearts to wonder. / / She is graceful, she has a secret / Her imagination is free / But she does not reveal the feelings / Her eyes only reveal her heat. / She smoulders without definition. / / Why does she capture our imagination so? / Is it because she is difficult / or impossible to understand and define? / Mystery exposed and mystery explained. / / Her secret so delicious / So surreal / Her mind behind her skin / is an adventure unknown. / / She reveals just enough to entice / But not enough to answer all the questions / She provokes us to think / She stimulates us to feel as / She is hidden and unexplained. / / Is she shy or is she sensual? / A muse or an artist? Or is she both? / Is her internal world her sanctuary? / A place where she truly comes alive. / Is she art painted, framed and / exhibited for all to see? / ...beautiful… / / Be careful what you wish for… / / / Written by Anthea Slade 13-9-08 / /

  • It was dark. And the smell of death hung heavy in the damp, stagnant air. I knew it wasn’t safe, but the promise and the temptation pulled me forward… deeper and deeper until I was in way too far to turn back. Suddenly she was upon me, the manifestation of my dreams surrounding me in multiple visions of my burning lust… but turned against me with the force of a thousand demons and sinking sharp into my taut skin like steel rivets… There was no escape this time. I am truly captive as she appears again and again to torment my soul. Even if I survive, I know that I will never be released as I am under the curse of the raven. / My spirit to roam free, never more. Never more… But jeeze, what an awesome way to go, yeah? BB AKA BillyBoy Thanks so much BB for letting me chew on you a bit lol. No seriously this was really a great collab. I hope we can do more! Hugs Love v
