I can’t imagine why anybody would wish to read any of these things, I certainly do not intend to. But if you have nothing better to do, you probably need to get a life. Good luck with that.

Star light / Star bright / First star I see tonight / I wish I may / I wish I might / Have this wish / I wish tonight… / / Lying on my back / Looking up at the stars / Connecting the specks of glitter / To form unicorns, fairies / And ice cream cones / The things I dreamt of a decade ago / / But I close my eyelids / Not completely but just enough / That everything is a blur / And the specks all squish together / To make one sparkling blob / / I open my eyes wide / And the light from one star / Twinkles like the diamond on my left ring finger / / Why won’t my wish come true? / I squeeze my eyes shut / Clench my hands into tight balls / My whole body shakes / With my valiant effort of making a wish / / I shake until I feel your fingers intertwine with mine / And your lips on mine / The connection we share is ten times stronger / Than that of the gravity of Saturn / / I open my eyes to look directly into yours / And see the reflection of the night sky in your pupils / To see your soul dance / Like the shooting star that flies across the sky / The ever-so-bright star stands out against the ink black that hangs above us / / Don’t be scared of a meteorite crashing down on our love / Don’t be scared of my wish / Don’t be scared to take my hand…

More than 2000 years ago, Plato (“The Republic”) criticized Athenian Democracy as inevitably corrupted by the ignorance and passions of the masses. Will we continue to look to big government and big business to solve the problems that face us so that we can continue in ignorance and expedience, or will we, as individuals, families, neighborhoods, schools, and communities rise to meet our best selves? We want the status quo, but the status quo is destroying the environment, it’s destroying culture, and ultimately it is destroying our prospects to live in peace. Yes, we need better policies, better laws, better politicians, but we need to change. We must be the change. To ask anyone or anything else to bring change is to ask for slavery.

recently discovered a folder of my old little poems. prepare for quite a few uploads, not necessarily high calibre. but they show who i was. or am.
But remember me, young un. Remember and be proud. / I’m the one, who fed the many. I’m the one who chased the cow.
I used to do visits at nursing homes with the greyhound retirement group I was part of, and one of the nursing homes we were at had some folks who were tied to the rails by bedsheets. We only visited it once. And I remember thinking to myself, “these people were just like me once, and now look at where they are at. This is no way to honor their legacy, no matter how meager it is.” So I wrote this poem. Hope you enjoy it. And maybe say a prayer for those still suffering these kinds of indignities.
Sitting on the Jetty at Coffs Harbour watching my friends leap off into the ocean wishing i could be brave enough to join them.
Every once in a while, a wish comes wrapped in absolute belief and conviction. When that happens, nothing can stop it from coming true. This is the story of one such wish. by Ajit Harisinghani
