  • This photo of a silhouetted cross against a beautiful sunset was taken in Windsor, Nova Scotia, Canada right across the street from my house. My then girlfriend, now wife pointed out the cross, so I got down to ground level and took the shot. I was using a Canon PowerShot A640 camera at the time. / This was the very first image that I added to RedBubble and it has been my most popular image for views, comments, and favoritings to date. / _____________ / Check out more of my art from these categories: / Holiday Cards / Abstracts / Sketches / Birds / Seascapes/Landscapes/Sunsets / / Subscribe to art updates / Subscribe to T-shirt updates / Become a fan on FaceBook / Add me as a friend on FaceBook / Follow me on Twitter _____________ /

  • When I got my Canon PowerShot A640 in the early Summer of 2007 I started taking various shots in the backyard. This image of a purple Iris was one of the first macro shots I had ever taken, and definitely one of my most popular images here on RedBubble. It was named Iris’ Tongue because it looked to me like it was sticking out it’s “tongue”. / / “Iris’ Tongue II” has been shown as a part of the Flower Power Project Exhibition in Frisco, Texas. / / “Iris’ Tongue II” is available in all print formats offered by RedBubble. / / / / / / / / Check out more of my art from these categories: / Holiday Cards / Abstracts / Sketches / Birds / Seascapes/Landscapes/Sunsets / / Subscribe to art updates / Subscribe to T-shirt updates / Become a fan on FaceBook / Add me as a friend on FaceBook / Follow me on Twitter _____________ /

  • The fall colours in Nova Scotia can be so beautiful. This picture was taken from a spot in West Pennant called Hospital Hill. Hospital Hill is a couple of miles back in the woods but well worth the hike! When you climb to the top of the hill the views are spectacular, ocean in one direction and hills in the other.

  • Whenever I’ve heard older couples interviewed, the older gentlemen have always said the reason their marriage has lasted so long is because they learned to say “Yes Dear.” I thought this would make a funny t-shirt. I also have this t-shirt available with black print on a lighter background and I have a certificate in print. I hope this makes you smile!

  • inspired by pre-nick cave:)

  • I am most proud of this shot so far in my short time doing photography. This image incorporates my passionate nature with my love of the ocean. I used to lobster fish with my Dad and so the ocean holds a lot of dear, and not so dear LOL, memories for me. I almost froze my hands off doing this. It was snowing a little while before I took this shot so you can imagine close to the water, with a breeze, how cold it was. However, in the name of love and romance, anything goes! LOL

  • Bank holiday….what do you do? As a sub contractor for a bank, I gladly accepted a day off and headed for the hills. Woke up really early and traveled out to the outskirts of Sydney. Had a great few hours of photography. I found this spot by accident. Nature called, so I had to pull to the side of the road. In the distance I noticed a gorgeous valley. I decided to try and find it. After a bit of trial and error bingo, another spot. • I took this shot from the Windsor turf farms today while following a storm which hit about 5 minutes later.. It is an HDR shot and I think HDR was the right choice as it shows details in both the sky and landscape.. / I have always wanted to try and get a storm shot while down at the turf farms because the scene just looks so typically australian to me.. / I decided to include the gate to break up the scene a bit and add something more to view than just turf and the sky.. / Anyway as usual all comments and/or thoughts are welcome.. / Thanks for having a look! • This picture was taken on March 8, 2008; a very rainy foggy day in Sambro, NS. This was fitting weather for a small fishing community remembering their five friends, neighbours and family members lost at sea 20 years ago. On March 8th, 1988 the fishing boat “Bonnie Lou II” was lost at sea and the five fisherman on board were never found. Had the men survived the storm the sight of this lighthouse, which stands at the entrance to Sambro, would have welcomed them home.

  • Just stating the truth! LOL If you would like this personalized or a colour change made then please let me know by bubble mail.

  • I realize there are lots and lots of terrific Mother-In-Laws out there; however, this tee is for those that don’t have … terrific ones…. LOL

  • This is a macro of the inside of a flower, but please don’t ask me which one because I have no idea what it was. LOL Scott said it looked like candy corn so the name was born. Candy corn for those of you that don’t know is a rocket ship shaped candy that is three different colours; red, yellow, and white I do believe. For those of you that may wonder, I did not manipulate this photo in any way other than to crop a bit off to get this to RB dimensions.

  • This year marks the 250th anniversary of the Sambro Island Lighthouse. Families, including cousins of mine used to live on the island all year round. There were two homes which are still standing, but barely. I believe the building you are seeing in this shot is where the families kept their supplies and storage. The island is said to be haunted by a man. I was quite disappointed to not have felt or seen something eerie while I was there. There is also a spot which looks to be carved out of the rocks on the island called the “Devil’s Footprints” The story goes that the devil walks up out of the water and walks up the rocks to the island. What the devil would want with a lighthouse I have no idea, but that is what I was told. The rock pattern is very odd though and quite something to see. The lighthouse is now run by solar panels and no human hands are needed. Even the fog horn is run by a machine that detects fog. Even though I did not see or feel a ghost, the island has a very lonely feel to it, an abandoned and sad spot. I couldn’t imagine being there alone….no, I just could not!

  • This was one of the most spectacular sunsets I have witnessed in a long time and Scott and I were lucky enough to be at Peggy’s Cove in Nova Scotia when it occurred. At first I was hoping these two love birds would get out of my shot but then I realized they added to it… I hope you enjoy it!

  • Photo shot at Windsor. As one easiy notes, the subject in this photo is Windsor Castle. It is a very vey big and nice Castle. It was a cold, windy and cloudy day when I went to visit this photo. I opted for a B&W as it gives the photo a more drammatic contest. • Constructive suggestions on honing my B&W conversion skills welcome! Sam is a legend in the Antique business, and in the Windsor area on the outskirts of Sydney. He owns the most fabulous old shed full of dusty ‘treasures’ and is always delighted to have people pop in for a chat. A recent addition to his life was this gorgeous puss … the photo was taken at Sam’s request. FEATURED on HOME PAGE 29 August 2009 My Bubblesite also shows works in categories. • A 3 Shot HDR processed in Photomatix Pro Camera Fuji S100FS Windsor Castle, in Windsor in the English county of Berkshire, is the largest inhabited castle in the world and, dating back to the time of William the Conqueror, is the oldest in continuous occupation. The castle’s floor area is approximately 484,000 square feet (44,965 square metres). Together with Buckingham Palace in London and Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh, it is one of the principal official residences of the British monarch. Queen Elizabeth II spends many weekends of the year at the castle, using it for both state and private entertaining. Her other two residences, Sandringham House and Balmoral Castle, are the Royal Family’s private homes. Most of the Kings and Queens of England, later Kings and Queens of Great Britain, and later still kings and queens of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth realms, have had a direct influence on the construction and evolution of the castle, which has been their garrison fortress, home, official palace, and sometimes their prison. Chronologically the history of the castle can be traced through the reigns of the monarchs who have occupied it. When the country has been at peace, the castle has been expanded by the additions of large and grand apartments; when the country has been at war, the castle has been more heavily fortified. This pattern has continued to the present day.

  • Windsor Castle / MCN: C9S5M-33MU2-K1YGX Texture overlay courtesy of SkeletalMess Windsor is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and the Official Residence of Her Majesty The Queen. Its rich history spans almost 1000 years. The Castle covers an area of about 5 hectares (13 acres) and contains magnificent State Apartments furnished with treasures from the Royal Collection, St George’s Chapel (one of the most beautiful ecclesiastical buildings in England and the burial place of 10 monarchs), and Queen Mary’s Dolls House, a masterpiece in miniature. Henry VIII: A 500th Anniversary Exhibition, 8 April 2009-18 April 2010. To mark the 500th anniversary of Henry VIII’s accession to the throne, some of the most important and beautiful treasures to survive from the King’s reign have been brought together from the Royal Collection and St George’s Chapel archives. Windsor Castle played host to Henry VIII and his court on many occasions and the monarch is buried in St George’s Chapel with his third wife Jane Seymour. Through paintings, drawings, miniatures, prints, books and manuscripts, the exhibition explores the life of a king who had a profound impact on British history and whose fascinating story continues to generate widespread interest today.
