The Windmill at Polegate, a little north of Eastbourne town centre.
Somehow, the pinwheels of today seem much bigger than the ones I remember from when we were kids. Wind turbines are a common sight in the Skåne region of southern Sweden, and are responsible for generating approximately 30% of all electricity.
This was taken in 2006 at the Rolex middle sea race. I was the tender boat for ABN at this time!! It was so cool.

Taken near St. Breward, Bodmin Moor, North Cornwall. This is a typical scene around this time of the year (July) where these wild ponies congregate. The foal was very young and fell heavily while trying to follow its mother across the ditch (behind it in the picture) just before I took the shot. Annoyingly the subjects in the original were a bit soft (though I’ve done my best with the software), hence only on sale as cards. / Pentax K 10D, 1/800 sec, f 7.1, ISO 200, zoom set at 180 mm.

I love the sense of scale. This is the wide open space of the prairies. This is in the south western part of our province. Most of southern Manitoba is flat because it was scraped flat by a glacier, which then melted and formed a huge glacial lake, Glacial Lake Agassiz. Hills and such are usually the result of terminal moraines of the glaciers.
