  • This is an old windmill with lights strung on it for the holidays. A small farm town and once the wheat capital of the U.S. is where my home town was. I took this photo at work…The center was built on an old farm and they kept alot of it’s old charm. It brings back many memories of home. I used Photoshop CS2 to edit this photo.

  • On a very early drive northward on the Tathra-Bermagui Rd, I was greeted with this fantastic sunrise near the village of Tanja adjacent to Mimosa Rocks National Park. I captured this image this morning (20.08.2008). For better viewing, click on ‘view larger’

  • I drive by this windmill almost every day, twice a day, on my 40 mile commute to work in southwest Iowa. I kept waiting for the background and the lighting to be just right. I think today was it. This had some post processing in Photoshop. A little tweak to the color and contrast, but this is pretty much what I saw today with the setting sun hitting the blades of the windmill and bare cornfield. / Canon EOS 10D / EF-S 18-55 / 1/80 at f16 / ISO 200

  • The Moulin Rouge, Paris. It was built in 1889, and became birthplace and home to the can-can dance. While the production of the show is very similar to what Baz Luhrmann portrayed in the film, important to note that the interior looks absolutely nothing like what the film shows. Added a light sepia tone to this one. Thought it would be interesting to take the bright neon lights of the present back into the past. It is an amazing building, inside and out, so original, borderline on tacky, but able to get away with a lot more than if it were in any other city. • The semi-desert Island of Fuerteventura lies just under 100km off the coast of Africa (near the border of Morocco and Western Sahara). It enjoys a near-perfect climate with average monthly temperatures ranging from 17°C in January to 25°C in August. Fuerteventura is the longest Island in the archipelago at 98km north to south and the second-largest Canary Island after Tenerife. The unforgiving barren and arid interior of the island shares much with it’s African neighbours of Morroco and the Western Sahara including sparse rainfall, rocky-desert landscapes (the temperature of these rocks can reach 67°C on a hot day!) and simple flat-roofed white-washed villages.
