Heteractis magnifica. Coral reefs, rocky reefs. Depth 5 to 15 meters. Up to 1 meter width. The magnificent sea anemone is one of the largest single structured tropical anemones. It is generally seen in areas of relatively strong water movement along the fringes and slopes of coral reefs. The column is mostly a dark orange-brown to purple and the tentacles range from bright green to greenish black

These windflowers (anemones) are each year a faithful messenger of the approaching summer.. They grow in the more lighted parts of the forests.

Japanese anemones in the garden.
Commonly found in most reef habitats. Highly variable in colour depending on geographical area and host anemone. It is the only species known to live with all host anemones. Widespread in the Indo-Pacific.
The Maldives own anemonefish, not known anywhere else with except of Sri Lanka. A common species, easily recognised by the single white bar over the head and the black lower fins. Only known in one host anemone Heteractis magnifica. Reef crests and slopes to depths of about 15m.
