“Don’t be afraid of opposition. Remember, a kite rises against, not with the wind.” – Hamilton Wright. Millicent, South Australia. / © 2007. / . / / . /

Life is just like dandelions. When the wind comes, they leave, but they won’t disappear. They are just going to a new place to start a new life…

“Anyone who says that sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain”. This pretty much sums up how I feel about it! / 100% Photoshop This tutorial was a big help! Inspired by Summer Rain by ATB

This old tree stands on top a gnarly peak on the far east border of Glassier National Park where the long and great plans suddenly and somewhat unexpectedly jump up in a shear wall of stone. It was not alone but stood with the corpses of many other trees who for some reason or other had ceased being able to live in the hostile environment that had given them birth and carved their living flesh into such masterpieces of wood. This one, though, this one was different. It was bigger and more warped and had lived far longer then any of its brethren or children that lay scatted about, and something in the way the silver wood gleamed, something in the way that it reached so far, forever seeking shelter from the wind, left me standing in awe.

Had to capture this image, with thoughts of movement around it. I have, what I envisaged, thanks to layers and Photoshop. / Llanidloes, Mid Wales, UK / Copyright 2007 Clickable

I took two photos of this dandelion flower to get all of the parts in focus and then merged the two together.

© Claire McAdams / ALL RIGHTS RESERVED I have been fighting with many people that I love lately and I feel like I am just being tossed around by my emotions. I am at home and remembered I had this awesome dress and wanted to do some shots in it so I tried to capture a jump shot in which I looked like I was just flying aimlessly, because that’s kind of how I feel. I thought texture added something cool here but I kept a copy without it because I really like how it looks both with and without texture.

Its late at night, you are restless, can’t sleep. A walk on the beach seems like a fine idea. No one is around. Just the sounds of the waves and the wind. The lonely wail of an offshore buoy, consistent and haunting. / You hear the sounds of your feet as you walk through the sand toward the path to the beach. / Nearing the path you wonder if it was such a good idea to walk out here alone at night. You hear rustling, the wind, you wonder? The buoy, beating it’s tune to the rhythm of the waves. A fog rolling in, brings a feel of unease to you. Looking down the path you wonder. Should I go? What was that sound? You strain to hear, but the sound of the waves and the wind leave you wondering if you really heard anything at all. And suddenly, the hairs on your arms rise….....

“Wind break” is about reducing the landscape down to its barest essentials, so that the focus is on the hills, the trees and their shadows. / The trees are overlapped to give the impression that there are more trees than there actually are. The reason I made them seem to float above the ground is because these types of trees are not indigenous to the surrounding landscape. They don’t really belong. / The hills themselves are smooth and bereft of incidental details, reminiscent of the drought affected grasslands commonly found in pastoral farmlands. Oil on Stretched Canvas – No Airbrushing 36 X 48 inches / 92 X 122 cm Original : / $2500 AU – excluding p&p from Melbourne, Australia / contact my Agents at Gallery 112 / .....................................................................................................

“Absence is to love as wind is to fire; It extinguishes the small and kindles the great.” / Roger de Bussy-Rabutin Thought this quote appropriate – how I see this image. Hope some people see what I mean as well as others seeing something totally different. Kind Regards Paul
