  • PHOTOGRAPH BY: JACK ATLEY/www.jackatley.com – PIC SHOWS: This image shows Rose Kelly, a TV presenter on ‘The Weather Channel’ in Australia. This image was shot as part of a personal series entitled, ‘People affected by Weather and The Environment’. I wanted the mage to show 3 things: A striking portrait of a person affected by weather and the environment, to show Sydney’s massive afternoon thunderstorms and I wanted the image to be uniquely Australian, so I incorporated a national icon, The Sydney Harbor Bridge.

  • This watercolour is framed in a matching golden and black frame with a wide matt board a long painting. Thanks to Scatti evolutivi for permission to use her photo. This is for Malawi see www.shirleycharlton.com The Malawi woman are beautiful mothers they have a kindness and have a gift at bringing up children. Babies are so happy on their backs as they go about their work either digging thier gardens or fetching water, or firewood. I enjoyed painting this from Scatti’s photo and used artistic licence to make the child look happy as in the photo he looked a little sad. They maybe poor but they take the trouble with the scarf and headdress. Of course a photo is more exact but I hope I have captured the caring Malawian Mother, and a Mothers Love as Jesus loves us. Painted on Arches watercolour paper.
