Sometimes I’m amazed by how such a simple subject can turn out into such a beautiful image. So initially when the leaf dropped into the water, I wanted to capture the ripples in the water, but then the water turned so silky smooth and I just had to fire away. Probably best viewed in large format.

Life… / As nature intended… / to wither and die / or / to fight and survive…. Just as a flower, / Some buds wither and die… / Some begin to open…only to be crushed by the elements… / But there are always some, they take the knocks… / suffer the elements… / embrace the light and… / Grow stronger… / Then one day… / the blossom opens… / bathes in that light…and emerges… / full of beauty and strength…. / That’s Life….. Thanks B., for the enlightenment….. Camelia flower captured in my garden today…06-07-2008

Image uploaded for one of the group challenges. Colors changed in Photoshop to help show the wilting process. Background also edited.
